Apparently people love themselves some Game of Thrones.
Variety reports that Game of Thrones star Kit Harington has joined the cast of the new fantasy film, The Seventh Son along with Jeff Bridges, Ben Barnes, Julianne Moore, and Alicia Vikander.
The film will be helmed by great director Sergei Bodrov, and is based on the children’s book series, which follows Thomas J. Ward, the seventh son of a seventh son, born with supernatural powers.
While I’m not all that familiar with the series or this book in particular, I do love this cast, and think that this could be a great change of pace within the world of young adult novel adaptations. Bodrov is a fantastic filmmaker, and one who could do real wonders within a story like this. He’s best known for sweeping epics, so the idea of him taking on a fantasy project of this magnitude could be massively entertaining.
