BioWare Says ‘Mass Effect 3′ On PC Will Not Support Use Of Controllers

I’m a console gamer, through and through. I’m aware of how much more powerful and smooth PC games are, but playing with one hand on a keyboard and one on a mouse is irredeemably annoying and uncomfortable for me personally. The one and only way you may one day see me trying out PC gaming is if I used a console controller, and with consoles likely inching ever closer and closer to being computers themselves, that’s not happening any time soon.
But for anyone who prefers PC gaming with a controller over the traditional keyboard and mouse set up, Mass Effect 3 might not be quite as exciting as it once was to those of you who were looking forward to playing it.
On the BioWare forums, it was revealed that the PC version of the game will NOT support controllers. They still might work in some cases, but they won’t be supported by the game.
The news doesn’t bother those who like and prefer using the keyboard and mouse, but it does have a lot of gamers who do use controllers quite upset.
It’s also just another bit of negative news involving Electronic Arts to add to the pile. From banning people from playing their games for criticizing in forums to forcing people to buy games new in order to use multiplayer (Battlefield 3), let’s just say they may not have a lot of well-wishers in the gaming community.
Nevertheless, there’s little choice in the matter if you want to play something they put out. And so, as always, we’ll just have to deal with it.
What are your thoughts on Mass Effect 3 not supporting controllers for PC?
