It Came From The Interwebs: Rocky 4 With Robots, Marvel Dance-Off, Kirk Cameron

It Came From The Interwebs!

With a jetpack fueled by insomnia and an easily amused mind, From the Interwebs scours and sifts through everything that has ever appeared on the internet (more or less) to find a few things that you should know about every week. These things come from the interwebs, hence the clever name.

This week we have Rocky 4 with robots, CD art, Tobias Fünke, a Marvel Dance-Off, and child celebrities responding to Kirk Cameron.

1. Long lost CCOKC

Kirk Cameron pissed off a ton of people in March when he went on CNN and told Larry King’s chair that gay marriage was “unnatural” and that he thought it was “detrimental, and ultimately destructive to so many of the foundations of civilization.”

In response to that troglodytic little love note, a group of Child Celebrities Opposing Kirk Cameron came together to speak out against the former Growing Pains heartthrob and form a swelltastic acronym that goes hand in hand with their motto, “CCOKC: Getting all up in Kirk Cameron’s ass.”

The “celebrities” are Christine Lakin, Maureen Flannigan, Josie Davis, Jeremy Licht, Kenn Michael, and Keith Coogan. So, who the hell are they? Well, I’ll let you watch unmolested by my knowledge to allow for a truly organic “Holy shit they look completely different!” reaction — but do observe Maureen Flannigan’s magic fingers and the closing line from *adopts Mr. Belvedere voice* Wesley!

2. Be like Fünke

He’s the Pete Best of the Blue Man Group, the world’s first licensed analrapist, and the best selling author of The Man Inside of Me, but did you know that Arrested Development‘s Tobias Fünke had game? It’s true, and a one named artist named Kleinmania captured the majesty of Tobias mid “Jumpman” pose, complete with short shorts — it’s a fantastic image, and a minor miracle that there is only one ball in the picture.

3. X-Men versus Avengers

Marvel needs to end the fighting (and all the tie-ins) and take this to the streets…

4. Robot Evolution

Listen to and remember the sounds of a robot walking up a stairs, it is the last thing you will hear when the robot apocalypse comes. This video comes to us from Geekologie, and it is literally a shot for shot remake of the Ivan Drago training sequence in Rocky 4. Be afraid.

5. Recycling

And finally, art made out of useless crap. Personally, I keep my old CDs in a box by my bed for quick access should I need to throw them at encroaching zombies, but Australian sculptor Sean Avery has found a more sustainable use for them — he makes detailed animal sculptures out of them like this bird made entirely out of Fall Out Boy CDs (that is a non-truth, no one has any use for Fall Out Boy CDs.)

Check out the pic below, I just made Patrick Stump cry, goodnight (if it’s day, just go with it).
