This is the 35th anniversary deluxe edition, which means that 19 songs right now are available for instant download.

Frampton Comes Alive!, which was originally released as a 2-record set back in 1976, unexpectedly catapulted the young Frampton, born of English heritage and had been in Humble Pie and had released solo albums to no fanfare in America, into the success stratosphere, with radio and chart hits “Show Me the Way,” “Baby I Love Your Way,” and the lengthy and guitar de force “Do you Feel like We Do,” replete with voice box and axe histrionics which sent the live audience into a frenzy.

Turntables everywhere at the time of its release made Frampton a huge superstar, and his nice guy mentality and pretty boy looks made him an idol to young people from coast to coast. Other great tracks include “Doobie Wah” with a hyper guitar funk bridge that also shows that Frampton could play guitar ball with the rest of the greats; “I Wanna Go to the Sun,” a great cover of The Rolling Stones’ “Jumping Jack Flash”; “(I’ll Give You) Money,” and Humble Pie’s “Shine On,” also rock with that mid 70s “feel good” mentality mixed with no-nonsense string bending.

This deluxe edition has a handful of tracks not available on the original release. A great bargain of a great album by an unsung hero of classic rocks pantheon!
