Doom Digest

Every day here at Doom HQ we receive tons of tips from our readers about really cool stuff from the world of geek, as well as promotional materials for new films, comic books, collectibles, and much more. While we do our best to bring you as much of it as possible, we don’t always have enough geek manpower available to cover it all on a daily basis. But we hate the idea of all of this really cool stuff wasting away in our inbox. How could we NOT cover it? Hence why we’ve resurrected our long-defunct column Bits Of Doom, now rebranded and revamped as Doom Digest, a collection of easily digestible bits of news, videos, photos, and other goodies.

Today: Children recreate The Beastie Boys video “Sabotage,” Batman teams up with Mountain Dew, Karen Gillan aka Amy Pond of Doctor Who talks Inspector Spacetime, a supercut of all the gear-shifting scenes from the Fast & Furious movie, and a Darth Vader USB Port Hub that someone really needs to get for me, plus Bits Of Doom.

Beastie Boys ‘Sabotage’ Video – Kids Version

In another instance of parenting done right, filmmaker James Winters, with the help of his wife, kids, and nephew, recreated the The Beastie Boys video for “Sabotage” with the kids playing all the roles. Pure gold right here. (My favorite part comes at around the 1:20 mark with the pool, a total laugh-out-loud moment.)

Batman Mountain Dew

Mountain Dew is partnering up with WB to promote The Dark Knight Rises with a new limited edition flavor inspired by the upcoming Batman film called Mountain Dew Dark Berry, which will be available nationwide for 8 weeks beginning in mid June. There’s also some other crazy Mountain Dew promotions, which you can read about over at Comic Book Movie.

Amy Pond Talks Inspector Spacetime

Karen Gillan, who plays the doctor’s companion Amy Pond on Doctor Who, says she watches NBC’s Community and loves their Doctor Who spoof, Inspector Spacetime. Watch the video here below where she talks about it, and even does a little “audition” for the NBC sitcom (yes, NBC, take notice!!!!).

Darth Vader USB Port Hub

This Star Wars – Darth Vader USB Port Hub needs to be mine. It belongs next to my Darth Vader clock, bank, mug, figure, tiny figure, pencil, pencil case (we can be here all day)… It’s a 4-port hub with sounds – SOUNDS! Only $29. In case it’s unclear: WANT!
