Celebrate Edward Cullen’s 111th Birthday With ‘The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn: Part 2′ Teaser Trailer

Twilight Breaking Dawn - Part 2 Edward

Breaking News: Edward Cullen, the impossibly beautiful, sunlight-sparkling vampire from Stephenie Meyer‘s Twilight series is crawling out of his angst-ridden crypt to celebrate his eleventy-first birthday today. So, in honor of this occasion, the teaser trailer for The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 has been released. Check out the trailer below!

Hey, you know who else famously celebrated their eleventy-first birthday? That’s right, everyone’s favorite hobbit, Bilbo Baggins. In The Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring, Bilbo abruptly slips on the ring of power and pulls a disappearing act, scurrying away from much drunken merriment as he’s not exactly a party animal. What does an Edward Cullen vampire birthday bash look like anyway? Does the Cullen family get together for a pick-up game of super-powered baseball? Is there is a Vamps vs. Wolves charity putt-putt tournament? I bet there are hilarious gag gifts where great aunt Lucille gives Edward a “Team Jacob” shirt.

The thing is, being 111 years old isn’t even that big of a deal. In fact, that won’t even get you on the Top 10 list of the oldest living humans, much less vampires. The top spot is currently occupied by Jeanne Calment of France, who lived to be 122 years old! Second place belongs to Sarah Knauss of the United States, who lived 119 years.

Eddie’s got a few years left before he’s on-par with the world’s oldest humans. He’s an immortal creature, so birthdays probably aren’t that big of a deal anyway. Maybe he’ll spend his 111th quietly writing his memoir, Shine On: Tales of a Bedazzled Vampire, or watching American Idol with Bella and the family.

In any case, to help fans worldwide celebrate Edward Cullen’s 111th birthday today, Summit Entertainment has released a new teaser trailer for the highly-anticipated The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2, starring Kristen Stewart, Robert Pattinson, and Taylor Lautner.

The film, based on the fourth (and final) novel in author Stephenie Meyer’s Twilight series, is directed by Academy Award winner Bill Condon (who also directed Part 1), and written by Melissa Rosenberg with Wyck Godfrey, Karen Rosenfelt, and Stephenie Meyer producing.

The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn – Part 2 arrives in theaters on November 16, 2012.
