‘Fallout: Lanius’ A Fan Film That You Can Help Produce

Fallout: Lanius

From the hearts and souls of gamers, geeks, and nerds come some of the greatest fan films ever. And thanks to fundraising sites like Indiegogo, now those who cannot create can donate! Fallout: Lanius is one of those fan films that will be head and shoulders above the rest. With a totally achievable goal of $10,000, this origin story of Legate Lanius is going to be spectacular! Remember Lanius is the primary big baddie from Fallout: New Vegas and this is all about explaining who he is and why he turned out the way he did.

Wade K. Savage has written the script and is the director/producer of the film as well. Based in Perth, Australia, Savage and a group of “hardcore Fallout fans” (his words, verbatim) are hellbent on creating a Fallout film of epic proportions. Having won the coveted “Independent Spirit” award at the Night of Horror International Film Festival, he has shown himself to have the skills necessary to render such a masterpiece, especially since he has surrounded himself with others just as skilled and dedicated.

Stuart Mackenzie, another Producer of this project, is well versed in both film and television. Alana Starcevich‘s eye for detail makes her an excellent Production Designer. There are a ton of others, but my favorite part is the fact that they got Mitch Lewis, the original Voice Actor from Fallout: New Vegas to reprise his role for this film. Though I must say that having an SFX Artist, Jeremy Shaw, who worked on The Lord of the Rings isn’t too shabby, either. I couldn’t possibly list all of the great folks that are attached to this film, but you can even watch a short video of the director discuss his vision of the project below.

Any donation of $5 or more will earn you a perk, starting with a thank you in the credits and on their Facebook page. The more you donate, the more you get! Each new perk is added to the previous one(s)…this means you get all kinds of cool Fallout: Lanius stuff! The Indiegogo campaign runs through 3 December 2012, but as the donations are made, some of the prizes are limited and could run out before then. So make sure you check this out quickly. I am donating not just to help out but because I get some cool stuff…. honestly, who wouldn’t want a high definition version of the movie and a poster for a measly $25? It’s going to a worthy cause, at least in this gamer’s eyes it is.

I hope you take the time to check this out, especially if you are a Fallout fan. This is your chance to be a part of something huge. Even if you are unsure, what can it hurt to watch a video and read a bit about it. You might have some friends that would have an interest. That’s exactly why I’m writing this, so all of you can find out about it and maybe give a helping hand to these awesome men and women who are creating this Not For Profit fan film. That’s right, they won’t be making a penny from this. Click here to check it out. And pass it along through Facebook, Twitter, Google+, Instagram, whatever…get the word out!
