We hear about Guillermo del Toro‘s “next” project fairly often, more times than not proving to not be his next project at all.
Still, it’s being reported that the visionary director has set up his next movie with Legendary Pictures, the same studio behind his massive upcoming monsters versus robots flick, Pacific Rim.
The movie is titled Crimson Peak, and will bring the director back to something he’s quite familiar with: ghosts.
No details are known yet of the film’s plot, but it is described as being a “haunted house thriller.” Del Toro has played in these realms before, with his fantastic 2001 film, The Devil’s Backbone. He also produced 2007′s The Orphanage.
The original script for Crimson Peak is written by del Toro and Matthew Robbins, with Lucinda Coxon to rewrite it after meeting with Guillermo in the near future.
Current plans are to begin production in February of 2014.
