The last person you’d expect to see returning for director Marc Webb‘s Spider-Man sequel, The Amazing Spider-Man 2, would most likely be Martin Sheen.
The actor played Peter Parker’s (Andrew Garfield) Uncle Ben in the first movie and…well, you know how the song goes.
But it appears that Sheen will be back in some aspect after all. During an appearance on Ireland’s The Late Late Show, the actor said he’d be back, and that filming would happen in February.
Here’s the quote from Sheen:
“They’ve called me back. I don’t know what the part is gonna be, but I’m going to be Uncle Ben once again in ‘Spider-Man’ next year. We shoot it in February.”
It’s not clear exactly how Uncle Ben will be used in The Amazing Spider-Man 2, but it’s assumed that he’ll show up in flashbacks or dream sequences, offering his wisdom to Spidey.
The sequel is currently scheduled for release on May 2, 2014.
