It may be a cold and blustery winter where I’m at, but for the people at Mondo they are celebrating like it’s summer. Two new posters for Steven Spielberg films, which oddly enough were released during summer, have been revealed online. Poster details and sale info for Mike Mitchell‘s E.T.: The Extra-Terrestrial and Laurent Durieux‘s JAWS posters are all available here below. So hit the jump to see full images of these beautiful posters.
Like all Mondo posters before them, these put an emphasis on a certain scene or characteristic from the film that made them so iconic. Taking a look at the E.T. poster, which uses the memorable cycling scene, and it feels so warm and brings that sense of adventure to life.
With the JAWS poster, it has subtle tones of that impending aquatic threat the swims along the shores of Amity Island. You may find a few hints of JAWS on or off the beach. But I think that’s what makes that poster so much fun. But it can also be a bit to subtle, because if you didn’t know about the umbrella or the raft, you wouldn’t know that it is a JAWS poster – besides the dead giveaway that the title is imprinted on it.
Both posters are hand numbered. Mitchell’s screenprint is sized at 36″ x 24″, is an edition of 475, and will cost $45, while Durieux’s piece is sized at 24″x36″, is an edition of 525, and will cost $60.
