Writer Hired For ‘Assassin’s Creed’ Movie Starring Michael Fassbender

The movie based on the hit Ubisoft video game series Assassin’s Creed has been moving right along since we first found out it was on the way.
First came the big news, that Michael Fassbender would be both producing and starring in the the adaptation. Now comes word that a writer has been chosen to writer the screenplay.
It’s been reported that Michael Lesslie has been brought in to write the script. Lesslie is an English playwright who penned Prince of Denmark for a run at the National Theatre. He’s also written a few shorts. Assassin’s Creed will be he debut as a feature film screenwriter.
In the movie, Fassbender will play a bartender who’s kidnapped by a secret corporation who puts him into a machine called the Animus. This machine sends him back to certain points in time where he will relive the memories of his ancestors, members of an order of assassins, in an attempt to discover the locations of ancient artifacts.
