From the moment we heard that Iron Man 3 would feature the Mark XLVII (47) armor, we knew that there would be a wide array of different armors possessing different capabilities. But those armors have stayed away from prying eyes and the only new armor was the Gold with red trim equipped with the Extremis technology seen in the trailers. Now new concept art has revealed the space armor and the Hulkbuster. One looks very cool, but the other not so much. Guess this is why they call it concept art.
Check out both armors here after the jump.
There is no confirmation that both of these armors will appear in the film, but the space armor toy appeared online a few weeks back, and with the release of this new image it seems to led us to believe that we will see the space armor in the film. The space armor makes sense especially since Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) has been traumatized after the events of The Avengers.
However, the Hulkbuster armor seems to lack almost everything about the suit epic. It either looks like it was made for a turtle or Quasimodo; either way, the Hulkbuster armor fails to live up to its name.
The images were revealed on the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Facebook page.
Tell us what you think about these designs. Directed by Shane Black, Iron Man 3 opens in theaters on May 3, 2013.
The space armour appears a few times in the toy range, i know that isn’t reason to say it’s 100% in the movie, though it seems likey it would be seen in the after credit scene to connect to the Guardians of the Galaxy movie.
I’d love to see the space armor, not only because it’s cool, but also because it would make sense for the character. It would reflect Tony’s paranoia after The Avengers and also his characteristic willingness to push himself in new, radical directions.
