Jonathan Wayshak's Batman Vs Superman We Could Have Changed The World

This past weekend, Kevin Smith moderated a chat for Yahoo! to help promote the upcoming DVD and Blu-ray release of Zack Snyder‘s Man of Steel. Both the director and star Amy Adams were in attendance to talk to fans about the film. But as you can imagine, a lot of their attention was focused on the planned sequel, Batman Vs. Superman. Well there were a new nuggets of information that were dropped in regards to the sequel, one involving a possible villain and another bit of news, which was made on Smith’s Smodcast, was about Batman’s suit.

While Luthor didn’t make an appearance in Man Of Steel, Snyder decided that putting his name on a building would be a nice Easter Egg for the fans; the same way that Snyder put a Wayne Enterprises satellite in the film.

So when talking about the sequel, while treading lightly, Snyder said:

“At its core, Superman is an alien. He comes from an alien world “¦ Lex loves to call him an alien.”

This is far from a confirmation. All Snyder is doing is acknowledging the fans’ call to have Luthor in the new movie. But at least he is acknowledging them. The director also talked about how fans can purchase early concept art for the film for the We Can Be Heroes charity. While on his own podcast, Hollywood Babble-On, Smith talked about the look of the new Batsuit, which will be donned in Batman Vs. Superman by his friend Ben Affeck. The filmmaker claims to have already seen the finished product, and says that it is completely different from any other Batsuit we’ve seen in the past. In fact, he was so enamored by the look of the suit, that he bearhugged Snyder.

I saw the costume, more than that I saw him [Ben Affleck] in the costume”¦I don’t want to give anything away cause that is up to them and stuff, but I am going to say this”¦I instantly bear hugged him. You have not seen this costume in a movie, on film before. For a comic book fan, it was mind-bending”¦ Because every other movie has done this matrixy black armor thing”¦There wasn’t a single nipple on this fucking suit man”¦ I think everyone is just gonna be like “˜Holy Shit!’ It’s its own thing, man. We haven’t been down this path before”¦ There’s a very [bleep]-influence to it, I would say.

Unfortunately the bleep* was added in after the show ended, so only the live-audience got to hear it. But one has to wonder which era or artist would have an influence on the Batsuit’s design.

*UPDATE: Unofficial Man Of Steel page says that the bleeped words were “Jim Lee.”
