I just crapped myself watching this trailer.

Just how big did they make him for this one?
Comment by Eruanion Nolaquen — February 25, 2014 @ 6:23 pm
Big. Really big.
In all seriousness, though, he’s supposed to be close to 400 feet tall (around 120-150 meters). That’s the tallest G yet.

Wow! Can’t wait…

Thank God all those white guys are there to save Japan (or how does a creature born in the Pacific Ocean ends destroying statues New York)…I love you Bryan Cranston…but I’m saying this movie is going to tank and tank hard

Well…if you actually looked at the trailer…it’s very clear that is
Las Vegas…not NY. Note the fact that its in the dessert and that the statue of liberty is the one in Nevada. Second…it never shows anything but Godzilla attacking obviously points in America, including San Fransisco. No sighs of Japan anywhere. But thanks for playing. And next time, watch the trailer on something other than your 4 inch smart phone screen.

You are entitled to your opinion and thanks for the Geography lesson…I live in Vegas and that is the worst showing of Vegas ever and we will ignore the fact of how he cleared all the land mass to get to Vegas…my point still stands that, once again they have hijacked a creature of Japanese origin and had him traverse the entirety of the Pacific Ocean, just so they can open the purses and wallets of the American consumer, the thought process is the same, this jingoistic theory that we as Americans (and specifically caucasion Americans) are the only ones who can save the World and if it’s not Americans then no one will watch it…Godzilla was a hit, with a mostly Japanese cast, because of the theories he explored about pollution and technology creating havoc and all this has done is made him bigger

Take a breath now. What we have are glimpses…simply shadows to mistify and entice. No more. Perhaps after seeing the film you will be proven correct in your assesmet. Perhaps not…but we should hold judgement and put a our efforts into quieting our more base characteristics and allow the film to speak for itself.

My only point is what separates this from “The Day After Tomorrow” the family dynamic, the saving of everyone by a father and son scientist trained in this area, when you have an actor like Bryan Cranston, you can and should do more. This looks like another Hollywood dumb it down to the lowest common denominator paint by number flick. As long as people are willing to spend money on it they will keep making it…..and my only point was I’m not buying it and after opening weekend I doubt very many others will also…
