Star Wars Mos Eisley Cantina band auditions College Humor

For May The 4thStar Wars Day — YouTube recently released videos for their “May the 4th be with YouTube” initiative. This year, YouTube Space LA and Lucasfilm gave four YouTube Channels the opportunity to shoot and produce an original video inspired by Star Wars on a Mos Eisley Cantina replica set. You can watch those videos that were created here below.

I probably don’t need to tell you all this, but the Mos Eisley Cantina is seen in the first Star Wars (as I like to call it), now known as Star Wars: Episode IV: A New Hope (I do not call it this). When Ben “Obi-Wan” Kenobi, Luke Skywalker, and the droids C-3PO and R2-D2 go to Mos Eisley (located on Luke’s home planet Tattooine), Kenobi says of the spaceport, “There’s never been a more wretched hive of scum and villainy.” The group goes to the Mos Eisley Cantina to look for a transport to the Alderaan system (although, the droids end up having to wait outside, since the bar doesn’t “serve their kind”) and that’s where Luke first meets Millennium Falcon pilot Han Solo and his co-pilot, the wookiee Chewbecca. The Cantina is also the setting of the controversial showdown between Han Solo and the bounty hunter Greedo.

Star Wars Cantina Band Auditions

One of those videos was created by College Humor called “Star Wars Cantina Band Auditions,” which features celebrities in Star Wars garb auditioning to be part of the famous Cantina Band. The 6-minute skit includes appearances by Chris Daughtry, Ben Folds, Liz Phair, Reggie Watts, Mark McGrath, Jordin Sparks, Rick Springfield, Weird Al, Lisa Loeb, and mc chris. There’s the main video, plus bonus footage featuring Ben Folds.

Kid Snippets: Star Wars Cantina

Here’s a “Kid Snippets” episode from Bored Shorts TV called “Star Wars Cantina,” which features adult actors using children’s voices to re-enact scenes from the Cantina based on how children have described Star Wars.

You’ve Never Seen STAR WARS?!?!?

From YouTube Nation, a daily online talk show: Ernest has never seen Star Wars, but has learned all he knows about the film from online Star Wars parodies.
