Hobbit dragon Smaug on the Colbert Report

On last night’s episode of The Colbert Report, host Stephen Colbert got to interview the mighty dragon Smaug, star of Peter Jackson’s Hobbit film trilogy.

The CGI dragon burst into the studio to give a lengthy interview that was both terrifying and entertaining.

Check out the video of the segment here below.

Next week will see the last run of Colbert and The Colbert Report as the host prepares to move next year to CBS for The Late Show, taking over for retiring David Letterman. Smaug, voiced and mo-capped by Benedict Cumberbatch, will next be seen in the third and final Hobbit film, The Hobbit: The Battle Of The Five Armies, which opens in theaters on December 17, 2014.
