Fan-Made Remote Control Millennium Falcon

With the ever-rising popularity in drones, and more specifically the four-propeller quadricopter style, geeks are making sure to take advantage by building working versions of their favorite fictional aircraft.

Recently, we saw an impressive functional remote control version of S.H.I.E.L.D.’s Helicarrier, and now comes a working fan-made version of the Millennium Falcon from Star Wars, the famous ship owned by Han Solo that can make the Kessel Run in less than 12 parsecs.

Click on over to the other side now to see a few videos of the fan-made Falcon in action, including a visit to Hoth (sorta).

The Millennium Falcon is also in the much-anticipated upcoming sequel from director J.J. Abrams, Star Wars: The Force Awakens, and makes an appearance in movie’s highly watched (and then watched again…and again, and again) first trailer.

Here’s more info on the latest entry in the hit series:

Star Wars: The Force Awakens opens in theaters December 18, 2015.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is directed by J.J. Abrams from a
screenplay by Lawrence Kasdan & Abrams, and features a cast
including actors John Boyega, Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, Oscar Isaac,
Andy Serkis, Academy Award winner Lupita Nyong’o, Gwendoline Christie,
Crystal Clarke, Pip Andersen, Domhnall Gleeson, and Max von Sydow. They
will join the original stars of the saga, Harrison Ford, Carrie Fisher,
Mark Hamill, Anthony Daniels, Peter Mayhew, and Kenny Baker.

The film is being produced by Kathleen Kennedy, J.J. Abrams, and Bryan
Burk, and John Williams returns as the composer.

Star Wars: The Force Awakens is Episode VII in the Star Wars Saga.

In addition to the videos below, which come from YouTube user Olivier C, you can check out a bunch of images of the construction of the aircraft if you want to try to make your own right here.
