Sharknado 2: The Second One Sharknado 3 adds David Hasselhoff

Picture it”¦ beautiful sandy beaches, gorgeous babes running in slow-mo”¦ and of course”¦ THE HOFF! If you were growing up in the 1990s, Baywatch, and David Hasselhoff were a crucial part of the pop culture zeitgeist. It was at-the-same-time ridiculous, over the top, campy, sexy and fun. In July 2015, those exact words can be used to describe the newest pop-culture ICON”¦ SHARKNADO!!!

From the infamous Asylum Productions, Sharknado became a phenomenon when it debuted on Syfy back in 2013. Coming this July, the perfect storm is hitting with Sharknado 3, which will feature none other than Mitch Buchannon himself, David Hasselhoff.

It’s as if they were having a crazy ’90s mixer on the Syfy Channel, which announced the third movie back in January. Hasselhoff will star as Gilbert Sheperd, father of Fin (ha ha), played by 90120 and Sharknado 1 & 2 hero Ian Ziering, while Tara Reid (American Pie) returns as one-handed love interest April. Then the cast just (sorry in advance) jumps the shark. Shark Tank star and NBA’s Mavericks owner Mark Cuban will portray the President of the United States, with VP Ann Coulter. Liberals everywhere will be eagerly awaiting her death via flying shark. Bo Derek, Jerry Springer, and WWE wrestler Chris Jericho are also signed on along with other notable guest stars, like *NSYNC singer Chris Kirkpatrick.

After destroying LA in 2013, and then the Big Apple in 2014, it’s time for a Sharknado to rip down the east coast hitting Washington, DC and Florida. Anthony C. Ferrante is returning to direct with a new screenplay from Thunder Levin (awesome name). This time, though, the sharks may have met their match as the Hoff brings years of beach experience to the battle! I can only imagine the scenes with him running in slow motion away from the sharks… oh if only Pamela Anderson and Yasmine Bleeth were available!
