Brooklyn Nine-Nine returns after a one-month hiatus to give us four more belly laugh episodes, before its in-between seasons vacation.

Captain Holt (Andre Braugher) and Diaz (Stephanie Beatriz) were the laugh stars of this episode. The second clip below highlights that. They could not avoid the inevitable double date dinner with their significant others, given that Rosa is dating Holt’s nephew (Nick Cannon) and the Captain’s husband Kevin (Kevin Cozner), is a pleasant normal person. I could swear Rosa and Holt are related by their socially awkward and humorless mannerisms.

Holt (after Rosa leaves the table because of unbearable small talk): “Whew. Good. Take a breather. No one needs to know you have sisters.” Good one, Captain Holt. Deadpan humor is the best.

Jake (Andy Samberg) gets injured chasing a perp, and despite multiple broken bones, refuses to take time off. He tricks Charles (Joe Lo Truglio) into a stakeout, with the promise of an Atlantic City (AC/DC – Atlantic City Dudes Club) spa-sino vacation. We kinda knew Jake was a workaholic, what with the competition with Amy (Melissa Fumero) and the way he threw himself almost too much into his cases, but it’s directly addressed this episode. You will get the backstory and it’s yet another reason we love this show. For all that almost everybody (except Holt and Diaz) acts the fool, they do get genuine.

Even Hitchcock and Scully (Dirk Blocker, Joel McKinnon Miller) pulled down their dumb masks last episode, gifting us with a glimpse of these two.

Gina (Chelsea Peretti), my favorite, is not front and center this time, but it’s still a cackling episode.

Brooklyn Nine-Nine airs Sunday nights at 8:30pm ET on FOX.
