Last week’s iZombie found Liv (Rose McIver) feeling very motherly, after eating the brains of a woman who died very late in her pregnancy. The baby survived. She had been missing for months and everyone thought the boyfriend did it. Liv gave “psychic” clues as she usually does and the episode ends with the case solved. Or was it? Well yes – for the pregnant mom, the case was solved. but some other things happened…

– The zombie captain is on to Liv after killing one of the suspects unnecessarily. The skate park kids’ bodies are found on the property. Wait a minute…

– Major (Robert Buckley) finds actual brains in The Candyman’s car, and knows it for what it is. He gets thrown in jail, and beat up – again.

– Liv bonds with her mom, now understanding her through those maternal feelings.

– Ravi (Rahul Kohli) makes a zombie rat, in hopes of a cure.

– They keep teasing us with the thought that Liv’s brother might become a delivery boy for Blaine (David Anders).

iZombie 1.8 “Dead Air” review: Liv’s new “brain of the episode” is a sex advice radio personality who was electrocuted on purpose. Her microphone was rigged. Seems this lady gave TERRIBLE advice, based on Liv’s newfound revelations. Ravi can’t stand her with this personality, because she tries to put the kibosh on him dating her roommate Peyton (Aly Michalka), who lawyered Major right out of jail. Lowell (Bradley James) is slightly freaked out about her “knowledge.”

Major knows the police hid the skate park evidence in that crazy couple’s backyard. I guess it doesn’t matter how much he gets beat up or loses the job he loves, he will get to the bottom of it. Unfortunately, the captain is being blackmailed by Blaine. I hopes he gets on the side of the good.

The zombie rat experiment worked! So far. Look for the inevitable thing that happens when one has a pet zombie rat. I’m as upset as Ravi.

The last vision before the credits is the one we’ve been waiting for – for several episodes now.

Side Note: Bradley James is going to play Damien Thorn on A&E’s Damien set for later this year. Glad for him, but I like him as Liv’s zombie boyfriend and don’t want to lose him.

I so do love this show. It’s so light and airy, even though it’s really gross too. Such a paradox!

iZombie airs Tuesday nights at 9pm ET on The CW.

The CW’s synopsis:

Dead Air (Ep# 109)
LIV HAS A VISION THAT MIGHT BE A GAME CHANGER — Liv (Rose McIver) and Clive (Malcolm Goodwin) work together to solve the murder of a morning radio talk show host who specialized in relationship straight talk. Liv becomes filled to the brim with insight after consuming the brains, making Clive extremely uncomfortable when Liv starts getting personal. Meanwhile, Peyton (guest star Ali Michalka “Easy A”) steps in to help Major (Robert Buckley), and Blaine (David Anders) issues a warning. Lastly, Ravi’s (Rahul Kohli) unexpected romantic connection has the potential to make things awkward for Liv. Zetna Fuentes directed the episode written by Aiyana White (#109). Original airdate 5/5/2015.
