Last week on iZombie, Liv (Rose McIver) was in mourning over the death of Lowell (Bradley James), at the hands of Blaine (David Anders). She throws herself into her work. Unfortunately, her work turns out to be the brain of an alcoholic has her doing shots. Sweet moment when Major (Robert Buckley) takes care of her. Not so sweet moment when he believes he is so crazy, he checks himself into a mental hospital.

iZombie 1.11 “Astroburger” review: The murder (thought suicide at first) of the week is the kid who said “zombies” to Major last week in the mental hospital. That was a bit predictable.

Ravi (Rahul Kohli) and Peyton (Aly Michalka) have their first date. He almost manages to maneuver them alone when…

Major comes over. He checked himself out of the hospital. The foursome try to have some normal time, but there are taboo subjects. Liv is trying to be sensitive, that is… until the cartoon devil on the chip bag starts giving her advice. Really silly. That’s what you get when you eat the brains of a mental patient.

The Leutenant passes the Liv-was-Lowell’s-girlfriend info to Blaine, so he decides to pay the morgue a visit. He and Liv and Ravi passes tense looks all around. It’s an enjoyable cat and mouse and zombie game.

An astronaut is missing. We know what happened to him.

Holy shit! And wtf! And OMG! And I cannot believe it! And then the reality sets in. This was one of the better episodes. Major has got to get rid of his death wish.

And then there’s another discovery… Stay tuned!

iZombie airs Tuesdays at 9pm ET on The CW.

  2. I was surprised they took this long for Liv to ingest a brain with paranoid delusions, but they finally did it, and I’ve gotta say they did a great job. The confession faked me out just as much as it did Major, and Rose McIver did a really great job of portraying this brain’s impact on Liv.

I also really loved that song that played right before Liv calls 911…it took me forever to find out that it is called “Drop It Low” by ED-E-MURPH-E, but I can’t find any info about them ANYWHERE online…anybody got a link? I’d love to hear more.
