Last week on Heroes Reborn, Hiro Nakamura (Masi Oka) was rescued from the fortress inside Evernow, from his virtual Miko (Kiki Sukezane). Sadly, she had to sacrifice herself to do it. He popped up just in the nick of time to save Noah (Jack Coleman) from death. However it was too late for Quentin (Henry Zebrowski). Carlos (Ryan Guzman) takes Dearing (Dylan Bruce) hostage, in an effort to find the priest and his nephew, but the tables are quickly turned. Malina (Danika Yarosh) saves Luke (Zachary Levi) from killing himself, then recruits him to help her find Tommy (Robbie Kay). Tommy takes Emily to Paris before he jumps on his destiny path. Erica (Rya Kihlstedt) continues with her plan to destroy the Earth of all EVOs (and the Earth itself pretty much). Hiro and Noah time travel to the Odessa Summit one year ago.

Spoilers below.

Heroes Reborn 1.7 “June 13th – Part One” review: This is the episode I was waiting for. While there are still many many unanswered questions and continuity glitches, what Heroes did and Heroes Reborn is now doing, is entertaining us and making us care to the point of forgiveness of these trespasses. For example, with Hiro and Noah running around the summit in the past, those “butterfly” warnings Hiro keeps spouting, are incongrouous to their actions, as they keep running into people as their past selves.

Confusing? A little, I must admit.

Angela Petrelli (Cristine Rose) meets Mohinder Suresh (Sendhil Ramamurthy) on a lonely highway. She gives him dire warnings about the fate of the world and his own fate. He does not believe her, really, until he starts seeing the little clues. He gives Molly Walker (Francesca Eastwood) his research for safekeeping.

Hiro: “Never bring a fist to a swordfight.” Cuts off Harris Prime’s (Clé Bennett) arms. Graphic and awesome.

I was really happy that Hiro realized he is never outnumbered when he can stop time. Equally wonderful was Hiro popping in and out of time to see all the butterfly effects of all the possible moves, then to ultimately decide that the bombing had to happen. Sadly, Suresh had to be sacrificed.

I must ask… how can Harris die? I assume the original can be killed. But where is the original?

Even so, the audience is just as desperate as HRG to find out what really happened, and this episode delivered us quite a bit of info. Claire died in childbirth to twins – twins that will save the world from the future catastrophic event. Noah assumes he wanted to forget so he couldn’t give up the twins whereabouts. The whereabouts (or should I say whenabouts) is the genius move. Hide the twins in the past, so they will have powers at the perfect time to save the world. One twin is Tommy and the other is Malina. In 2014, Tommy seems to know what his purpose is. Did the penny man help him forget after he saved Noah?

We do see the Collins family pre-vendetta, and it is really sad. That loss and subsequent actions are understandable.

The only copy of Suresh’s research was in Molly Walker’s hands? Where is it now? That’s a little weird that there was no cloud backup or anything.

With less than half the series remaining, Heroes Reborn will go out with a bang, if they keep the high intensity and entertainment value as this one, and combine it with as many sensible answers as possible.

Heroes Reborn airs Thursday nights at 8pm ET on NBC.
