Two weeks ago on The Last Man On Earth, Mike Miller (Jason Sudeikis) is trying to fix his ship, but gives up and sucks on some nitrous oxide instead. Todd and Gail (Mel Rodriguez and Mary Steenburgen) hook up. Phil (Boris Kodjoe) tricks Tandy (Will Forte) into letting him out of the stocks, and then he tries to leave. But he comes back. The cow has a baby, so they hunt some bull. The gang has a barbecued bull Thanksgiving.

The Last Man On Earth 2.9 “Secret Santa” recap/review: It’s Christmas – apocalypse style! Carol (Kristen Schaal) decorates as if she is at the North Pole, and her “Tandy Claus” helper is camoflaged as a Christmas tree. She breaks out the secret santa! They all pick names and she forces them to eat the paper. “Billion dollar spending limit!”

Tandy is still trying to get Phil to be part of the group. He gets Erica (Cleopatra Coleman) to agree to let Phil back in, and he gives Phil his pick in the secret santa – Erica. Of course, Phil had Tandy so that’s a bummer for him. Phil is acting very blah about it all.

Mike Miller has a big fight with Terry the worm, while getting high. I can see the resemblance between him and Tandy.

Tandy really wants Phil to thank him, and hints about it as subtly as a cinderblock to the head. Phil thanks God, and I suspect Tandy is jealous of God.

Secret Santa time! What do you get someone when all the gifts in the world are at your disposal? Some choices are:

– Oprah’s chair
– JLo’s green dress
– a sonogram
– not the Hope Diamond

There’s so much more.

Gail and Todd are trying to hide their little affair, and it’s working. I don’t know how, when they are so strangely obvious. Melissa (January Jones) is pretty smart too. I don’t know why she hasn’t caught on yet. Phil acts a bit weirder with Tandy than usual. I wonder why.

Mike seems on the verge of giving up, especially when his last worm, his only “family” – dies.

The episode ended with a few surprises both on Earth and in space.

Another good episode which ends in quite a shock.

My favorite part was actually when Erica gives Carol her presents.
