Vikings Jonathan Rhys Meyers

The History Channel recently announced some exciting news about their hit show, Vikings. To no one’s surprise, the fictional account of real Viking warrior, Ragnar Lothbrok, played by the talented Travis Fimmel, has been renewed for a 5th season. On top of that, Jonathan Rhys Myers (The Tudors, Dracula), who will star in The History Channel’s upcoming event, Roots, has been cast.

More below.

No word as of yet on the role for Rhys Meyers, but who cares? He plays complex on the side of evil so well, he will be great in whatever it is. And with the 5th season having 20 episodes like the newly expanded 4th season, we are gifted with another double dose of Vikings.

I cannot wait to see the Fimmel vs. Rhys Myers matchup.

Vikings airs Thursday nights at 10pm ET on The History Channel.

  1. I Don’t think you’ll see a “Meyers and Fimmel match-up” since Ragnar is projected to die this season and his sons take over the show.

  2. Meyer’s will be arriving in 5th season and Clive Standen will be leaving to do an NBC T.V. series call Taken. Based on those Taken movies staring Liam Neeson.

I’m not completely enjoying the way this series is moving anymore.
