Kickstarter Secrets

I’m a regular supporter of campaigns on Kickstarter, as you may know. I support it financially as a backer, just like many of you do, and I try to shine a little light on many of them here at Geeks of Doom through Kickstarter Spotlight articles such as this one. But this little crowdfunding campaign is different from most.

The whole purpose of Kickstarter Secrets is to help other campaigns raise more money and create more enthusiasm with backers. As a company, Kickstarter helps fund a lot of various ideas, but many of the failed campaigns could have done better under different circumstances. And that’s what this campaign is all about!

Greg Pak has written for Marvel for years and recently with DC Comics, as well. To say that he has seen success with his work is an understatement. Especially when you figure in the wildly successful Kickstarter campaigns he has led in the past. So taking some advice from a creator of his caliber should be a no brainer. The thing is that in this particular setting (and I mean Kickstarter) there is no actual competition, it’s all creator/owner driven and it’s up to the backers to pick and choose what they are most passionate about. I’ve often found myself just scrolling through the campaigns, just looking for the ones that move me. This is definitely one of them, since it moves the entire concept forward. It’s not just about getting something made, it’s all about helping others find success in their endeavors to create.

The book itself will only be available at this time as a .pdf file, but he’s got several other physical crowdfunded books up for grabs, too. The reward levels are definitely affordable, they start at twelve dollars and go up depending on what extras you want. He has several tiers that include signed comics, signed graphic novels, signed books, and even an hour long phone consultation to help you with your fundraiser! I won’t go into the minutia of the costs of each level since they are readily available on the official Kickstarter page. But you’ll certainly want to partake of these rewards if you decide to help breathe life into the project. To be fair, he’s already more than doubled his goal as I sit here typing, so it’s a sure thing that you’ll get what you want after you pledge.

Don’t take too long to think it over if you’re wanting the special extras, they’re going quickly. I’ve embedded the video below to aid in your decision making process but you’ll get the full effect, and far more information, by visiting the Kickstarter page. The campaign ends May 18, 2016 for all you procrastinators, however I do urge you to go peruse it now. I’d hate for you to miss out on some of Pak’s incredible offers.
