Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out Of The Shadows

The Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles are coming back this Summer for an all-new action adventure that brings in some very familiar faces to those who are fans of the 1980s animated series. A new trailer has popped up for Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows, which you can watch here below.

We’ve been covering the film for quite some time, and this trailer may be the best of all as it features better looks at the new threats that the Turtles will face. Previous trailers have featured the heroes in the half shell fighting against the likes of Shredder’s newest creations, Bebop and Rocksteady. But now they also have to contend with Dimension X’s greatest warlord, Krang – who will be voiced by Brad Garrett.

It’s not that the film wants to be like The Avengers or Batman v Superman. It knows where it came from and pretty much owns up to it. So just be glad it doesn’t feature any internal conflict or have mothers named Martha – at least I hope it doesn’t. Out of the Shadows looks to be just popcorn fun, something you can enjoy without having to worry some sort of major story arc leading up to something bigger.

As for Garrett voicing Krang, that is a bit new. According to The LA Times HERO Complex, the casting was recently made when Fred Armisen had to drop out due to scheduling issues. Garrett is probably best known for his work in Everybody Loves Raymond, but he has done a couple of other voiceover roles in the past as well, which includes films like Finding Nemo and Tangled.

For those who may not know, Krang was a powerful warlord who hailed from Dimension X, who was stripped of his rock-body and left as a brain-like being. He would eventually align himself with the Shredder and the foot clan where they would often plot against the Turtles in hopes of ruling the world.

Paramount will release Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Out of the Shadows into theaters on June 3, 2016.

Here’s the official plot synopsis:

Michelangelo, Donatello, Leonardo, and Raphael return to theaters this summer to battle bigger, badder villains, alongside April O’Neil (Megan Fox), Vern Fenwick (Will Arnett), and a newcomer: the hockey-masked vigilante Casey Jones (Stephen Amell). After supervillain Shredder escapes custody, he joins forces with mad scientist Baxter Stockman (Tyler Perry) and two dimwitted henchmen, Bebop (Gary Anthony Williams) and Rocksteady (WWE Superstar Stephen “Sheamus” Farrelly), to unleash a diabolical plan to take over the world. As the Turtles prepare to take on Shredder and his new crew, they find themselves facing an even greater evil with similar intentions: the notorious Krang.
