Spoilers for Scream Queens

Last week on Scream Queens, the adorable couple of Chanel #3 (Billie Lourd) and Dr. Cassidy Cascade (Taylor Lautner) tried to work through their issues so they can move forward together. Unfortunately, there’s a small problem with their relationship in that he is one of the Green Meanie killers stalking the CURE Institute. We know that hospital administrator Ingrid Hoffel (Kirstie Alley) is pulling the strings and acting as a second killer, but there may be another. The highlight of last week was Dr. Holt (John Stamos) and the ongoing battle with his own hand, which was transplanted from a serial killer as well. It’s impeding his budding romance with Chanel (Emma Roberts) and drawing him into conflict with Munsch (Jamie Lee Curtis).

Spoilers for this week’s Scream Queens below.

This episode was directed by the real Queen Bee herself, so it should be fun. And who should be there but Wes! Wes (Oliver Hudson) is Gracie’s father from season 1. He has a tumor in his stomach and blames Munsch for breaking his heart. He started eating his own hair (yuck) but now wants to rekindle things with her. With Holt pre-occupied with Chanel, she’s up for it, if only to make him jealous. Meanwhile Zayday (Keke Palmer) and Chamberlain (James Earl) spring a trap on the Meanie hoping to find out where the costume is made and get a lead.

My god, Jamie Lee Curtis rocks an 80’s style workout outfit. This episode is actually overdoing it with the sexuality. It’s not like the show isn’t over the top once in a awhile, but this is constant from every character for 15 straight minutes. Although, I have to admit the face to face between Munsch and Chanel is pretty funny. Zayday heads to a creepy costume shop run by veteran horror actor Bill Oberst Jr. She figures out that Jane (Trilby Glover), Cassidy’s mother bought the costumes. Jane calmly confesses that her brother committed the murders of all the hospital staff 30-years earlier, and she trained her son to kill everyone should the hospital reopen. Why is she calmly confessing? Because she drugged Zayday.

Munsch and Wes are romping away when they’re interrupted by the Green Meanie. She assumes it’s Holt out of jealousy. Chamberlain discovers a clue that suggests that, of all people, it’s Wes who has the Meanie. His confrontation with him does not go well. We now know the identity of the three Meanies, and honestly it’s a bit of a letdown. Last week’s episode was laugh out loud funny, but I felt they tried way too hard with the sexual innuendo this week, and the plot twist came totally out of left field. Still, even a bad episode of Scream Queens is mildly entertaining thanks to the energy of the cast. Hopefully, things pick pick back up next week.

Scream Queens returns next Tuesday at 9:00pm ET on FOX.
