Two weeks ago on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the legends needed to save George Washington and the outcome of the Revolutionary War, because evil Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and the Legion of Doom – Damian Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn, and Eobard Thawne (Neal McDonough, John Barrowman, Matt Letscher) caused an aberration to grab the piece of the Spear of Destiny. Washington was scheduled to hang as a traitor, but Mick, Nate, and Amaya (Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers) saved the day. Sarah (Caity Lotz) almost died when she was shot and Rip choked her, and the ship was offline. Stein (Victor Garber) tried to save her, as Jax (Franz Drameh) tried to defend the ship and the piece of Spear. Sarah was saved, but the spear was taken. Nate and Amaya became more than just friends.

Spoilers below.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow 2.12 “Camelot / 3000” review: Rip Hunter tricks Dr. Mid-Nite (Kwesi Ameyaw), and cuts him open for the 2nd piece of the spear. They go to Detroit 3000 AD and find the body. Next up, Medieval Times (that’s where another piece is hiding).

Stein stole a piece of future tech and Rory is proud of him. They test it out but it does not seem to be working.

They run into Guinevere (Elyse Levesque) and she escorts him to the round table. King Arthur (Nils Hognestad) calls Merlin (who is Stargirl of the JSA).

Nate is confused but Ray is in all his glory because Camelot is exactly like the stories. Guinevere flirts with Sara while King Arthur is apprehended by Rip and Darhk, and will now obey every command. They come to the court and make Arthur kill Sir Galahad, right after his biggest fan, Ray, meets him. Ray has purpose now. They will command Arthur to kill himself if they don’t bring the spear by dawn. Rip and Darhk are not getting along that well.

The army gathers. They are Camelot. According to Nate’s book, it looks like Ray won’t survive. He tells him, but Ray doesn’t seem to care. He is knighted Sir Raymond of the Palms. He won’t leave them to fight alone.

Amaya goes to steal the piece of spear. It is in Excalibur (that’s right). Stargirl (Sarah Grey) starts to stop her, but realizes that it’s the right thing to do.

They bicker over leaving him there, but ultimately Mick takes a stand for “Haircut” and they all follow.

Jax, Stein, and Mick try to figure out the tech, and Jax realizes it’s about intensity rather than smarts.

Jax: “We’ll let you know when it’s time to control the evil army.”

Mick: “Finally, I get to fulfill my destiny. Poor babies…” Mick is able to overwhelm the tech controlling them, and Rip is down. Damian leaves him there, but Sarah saves him.

Out in the woods, Ray confronts Darhk: “You’re a glorified nerd, not a knight.” He duels with Damian Darhk, and defeats him, but then Damian shoots him. Nate is distraught, but Ray is ok. He wore the atom suit underneath.

They all say goodbye.

Sara “Lance-elot” kisses Guinevere goodbye.

Mick to Stein: “Just admit it, my brain saved the day.”

Rip is captive, but he is still Captain and Gideon will listen. They are in for it next week.

It was very cool to see the mixture of legend vs history, and how it could be both. Why not, right? This series is such a fantastical blend of the historical and the impossible, that it just ends up being delightfully fun. Again, Mick Rory stole the show, and it’s really smart how the writers recognize what a gem they have in Purcell.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow airs Tuesday nights at 9:00pm ET on The CW.

The CW’s synopsis:

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow
Camelot/3000 (Ep# PROD # 212)
ALL FOR ONE — The Legends continue their quest to hunt down the Spear of Destiny before the pieces fall into the hands of the Legion of Doom. The Legends discover that pieces of the Spear are each being guarded in different time periods by members of the JSA. Their first stop is the future where they find Dr. Mid-Nite (guest star Kwesi Ameyaw) which eventually leads them to the past and King Arthur’s Camelot, where Stargirl (guest star Sarah Grey) is protecting her piece of the Spear. In order to protect the Spear shard from the now-evil Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill), the Legends must join forces with the Knights of the Round Table. Caity Lotz, Franz Drameh, Victor Garber, Brandon Routh, Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano and Maisie Richardson-Sellers also star. Antonio Negret directed the episode written by Anderson MacKenzie (#212). 1. The worst episode of season 2. Guinevere does not ride side saddle – full on armor and a sword (yawn). Merlin is Star Girl, WTF??? Superman gets his ‘knight in armor’ on but is about as fearsome as Goofy. Finally, Sarah gets to swap spit with this week’s babe, Guinevere. The End. I like this show but there are some writers that need dumping. The first one out should be the one who wrote this piece of krap.
