Doctor Who TARDISblend Banner

In Part One of our episode: The Monks have taken the planet, and it seems that only Bill (Pearl Mackie) remembers the truth, as humanity believes the invaders have been there forever. Reuniting with Nardole (Matt Lucas), the pair try to discover what’s going on. And where is The Doctor (Peter Capaldi)?

In Part Two of our episode: we re-enter the universe of the Ice Warriors, as writer Mark Gattis delivers a daring and significant chapter into the history of the species in Doctor Who.

During TARDISblend 107, we close out The Monk trilogy where we discuss the mixed reactions from fans online, examine the return of the Ice Warriors, and look towards what we can expect in the coming episodes.

All this and more on the latest TARDISblend!

Presented by Greg Davies (cGt2099 from The Heavy Metal Historian Podcast) and geek journalist Tom Cheredar, TARDISblend is a podcast that takes a look at the ongoing adventures in the Doctor Who Universe – as Peter Capaldi concludes his journey as the Doctor!

  1. Nice one guys, Tom, great to hear that you’re back on form, and solids (one of your best reviews to date, by the way).
Yes, you are so right, Steven Moffat has continued to expand the massive leap forward on sexual orientation attitudes within the show. We’ve got to give Mr T Davies a massive mention though. His matter of fact attitude toward sexuality hails him, in my eyes as one of the pioneers in recent TV broadcasting. Now kids can grow up feeling much easier about themselves and their own sexual persuasion. Something that never happened back in the black and white days. Give him and Captain Jack medals, medals as big as frying pans, for helping change peoples Victorian attitudes toward sex. I’m sure if it hadn’t been for the progressive attitudes from these guys, same sex marriages would never have become a reality. Whether you agree or not?
So big up for the boys ;)
Anyway, back to the plot. I think that we haven’t seen the last of the “monk alternative reality” arc. Are there still two realities happening? One where the Master still operates and the other, where Missy resides?
Ouch! my brain hurts, Steven, you’ve done it again. Damn curveballs ;)
But whatever transpires, its gonna be a goodeeeeeeeeeee and a new Doctor reveal (and Doctor number 1 to boot!).
Oh my God, I need a little lie down ;)
Stay happy and healthy guys. TT

  2. Rant No 2
Hi guys, Just a quicky this week. 3 out a 5 for me.
All I wanted to say was a massive thank you to Steven Moffatt for clarifying to the world, that blackbirds and seagulls talk with Scottish accents.
I experienced this phenomenon a couple of months ago. 5am, sun coming up, sitting on the patio. All the conversation in the trees WAS in Scottish. “See yoo” “Ya wee bastard!” “Mine” “Mine” “Mine” came from the wheely bin (dumpster). I tell you, it is true!
I put it down to too much bubbles and vapours and realised it had been a long night… But, yes I was right, Rona Munro (Scottish) also understands, I’m so glad I’m not going senile after all…. ;)
OK, bring on the double whammi as I’m champing at the bit.
    Stay Fab. TT.
