 |
Posted by Not Sure | April 29th, 2012 at 4:00 pm |

I Told You I Was Freaky, the second album from New Zealand comedy/folk/… group Flight of the Conchords, nearly defies categorization, but it’s worth a listen for it’s all-over-the-place sound and smirk inducing lyrics from Oscar winner Bret McKenzie and Jermaine Clement.
You can buy I Told You I Was Freaky for just $5 as one of the 100 notable albums on sale as a part of Amazon’s $5 MP3 Album Deal that runs through the end of April [...]

$5 MP3 Album Deal: Radiohead’s ‘OK Computer’
 |
Posted by Not Sure | April 26th, 2012 at 7:00 pm |

A stylistic left turn away from the more pop-friendly tracks of The Bends and Pablo Honey, Radiohead‘s OK Computer may not be the best of the band’s albums, but it may well be their most important. The album can be had right now on Amazon for just $5 as one of the 100 notable albums on sale during their $5 MP3 Album Deals for the month of April 2012.
Widely acclaimed and sonically diverse (though not as diverse or experimental as later works), OK Computer offers stand-out singles like the slow building “Lucky” and “Karma Police,” as well as several other expressive tracks that impress on first listen but make their full impact felt over time [...]

Video: Tupac’s Ghost Performs At Coachella Music Festival
 |
Posted by Not Sure | April 17th, 2012 at 2:00 pm |

Tupac died 15 years ago, but through the magic of Pepper’s Ghost, the crowd at last weekend’s Coachella music festival in California got a chance to be simultaneously thrilled and weirded out by a rapping, walking, and talking Tupac, who “took” the stage with his former running mate Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop D-O Double Gizzle.
Below is a probably NSFW [language] video of the performance, and honestly, it does sorta trick you into thinking Tupac is actually there. Snoop plays his part in the ruse, ably rapping alongside his slain friend, though I’m sure that, thanks to the marijuana, Snoop has rapped with ghosts before [...]

The Most Shocking Moments Of ‘Game of Thrones’ Season 1
 |
Posted by Not Sure | March 31st, 2012 at 3:12 pm |

This article only addresses events that happened during the first season of the HBO TV series Game Of Thrones, not how they were originally portrayed in the George R. R. Martin’s series of novels, A Song of Ice and Fire.
Game of Thrones has delivered unto us a show that is as rich as it is complex, a fantasy show flush with blood, lust, and treachery. To say that the bar hasn’t risen to unfairly high levels for the second season is an understatement, and saying that the show’s propensity for the truly shocking has added to those great expectations is certainly another.
In advance of Sunday night’s premiere of Season 2, we thought it best to highlight some of those shocking moments from Season 1; those scenes that made your jaw drop and your pulse quicken.
Warning: There are tons of spoilers beyond this point. [...]

Why A ‘Doctor Who’ Spin-Off Won’t Happen
 |
Posted by Not Sure | March 28th, 2012 at 1:00 pm |

Whether you like or inexplicably loathe Russell T. Davies, you have to admit that the man expanded the world of Doctor Who, working to fill it with a roster of unforgettable side characters like Rose, Jackie Tyler, River Song, The Doctor Donna, Wilfred Mott, Mickey, Martha Jones, and Captain Jack. Davies didn’t just let these characters roam though, he serviced them and made us care and even long for their return appearances.
Doctor Who, in the time of Steven Moffat, has not similarly excelled in this area. Oh sure, the love story of Rory and Amy will be written in the stars and spoken about for the whole of time (or something), and Moffat has more fully realized (for better or worse) River Song, his creation, but they don’t seem right for a spin-off and for the most part we only get snippets of other, smaller characters who we would love to get to know more [...]
