Toy Fair NY is going on right now and we’re getting a look at a lot of cool toys that will be coming out in the next few months. One of the big items shown was the first look at Lego‘s line of The Avengers toys, tying into Marvel‘s big movie this year. Marvel’s partnership with Lego was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, and showed off The Hulk, and now we have seen the rest of the team and their various vehicles. The press release from Marvel did not list an in-store date for these toys, but you can be sure they’ll hit stores leading up to the May 4th release date of the movie [...]

The folks over at Topps sent over this delightful Mars Attacks Valentine’s Day message. So, this Valentine’s Day, why not give an alien your heart…literally.

Topps announced last month that they’d be releasing a Mars Attacks commemorative trading card set this July to coincide with the company’s 50th anniversary. The set will contain reprints of the original 55 cards from 1962, as well as 25 never-before-seen subjects [...]

Back in 2010, Lucasfilm put out a wonderful release called The Jedi Path: A Manual For Students Of The Force. The notion was to make a book that would have been used by Jedi Masters and Padawans as a reference manual – a book contained within an electronic vault that would open at the push of a button “in a wash of light and Star Wars sound effects”. For those of you who have a predilection for the Dark Side though, you’re in luck: the Sith version is now coming.

Entitled Book Of Sith: Secrets Of The Dark Side, which was released today, is similar in nature to the previous Jedi version. [...]

2012′s Year of the Dragon Chinese New Year begins today and runs for 15 days of celebrations in China and in Asian cultures around the world. Part of the celebration includes giving out red envelopes (or ‘ang pow’) filled with money to loved ones.

The Mondo set of posters and prints are some of the most dynamic art pieces that are available commercially, and the newly announced line of DC Comics Mondo posters starts on Friday with this awesome Fortress of Solitude piece.

In conjunction with the upcoming 3D re-release of Star Wars Episode I: The Phantom Menace Lucasfilm Ltd. and 20th Century Fox are teaming up with Variety the Children’s Charity to create a Star Wars-themed pin for their annual Gold Heart Pin Campaign. Every year since 1991, Variety has worked with a major Hollywood studio to sell special pins based on a certain film or character in theaters across the United States in order to raise money to provide much-needed assistance to disabled and disadvantaged children around the world [...]

A photograph was recently discovered being sold on eBay. The photo is of a Tennessee man, and it dates back to around the 1860s or 1870s. But the thing about this particular man, is that he looks an awful lot like a one Mr. Nicolas Cage.

So much so that the seller is even using this in his description, claiming the Cage must be some sort of vampire. Now, some have taken the seller to be completely serious in his statements (especially with a Buy It Now price of $1,000,000 set), but as you can see in the Q&A section at the bottom of the page, he’s actually a pretty funny dude and, even though it sounds like a legit 19th century photograph, is likely just having some fun with it (unless, of course, someone actually pays up that kinda coin, in which case he would be a genius).
