E3 2011 Preview: The ‘Batman: Arkham City’ Batarang Controller For Xbox 360, PS3

The Movie God   |

The always exciting E3 video game convention will take place this upcoming week, and rumors and buzz about what exciting new games and footage might be shown off abound.

Until the convention actually gets here, some smaller goodies are being offered to keep our eager eyes at bay. One of these goodies is the new Batarang video game controllers created by POWER A, specially made for the highly anticipated sequel to Rocksteady Games’ Batman: Arkham Asylum, titled Batman: Arkham City.

Controllers for both the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 were created, and both offer a flashy new Batman-themed product for those of you who are into the more unique controller for your gaming adventures.

You can see what the two controllers look like by clicking on over to the other side now!

The only unfortunate thing about these new items is that the Xbox 360 version is wired. It’s unclear why, and it’s unlikely that many gamers these days are going to be jumping at at a wired anything, but the PS3 version is still wireless for those of you who have access to that console. [...]

E3 2010: ‘Star Wars’ Stands Tall With ‘Old Republic’ Trailer & New Kinect Game!

The Movie God   |

As usual, Star Wars made a big splash at E3 2010. And not just a big splash with one single title, but with THREE new upcoming titles that they were there to show off.

As you may have saw here before E3, a new cinematic trailer for Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II showed up. That by itself was pretty insane, but it was also just the start of a week that should have Star Wars fans drooling everywhere.

Aside from Force Unleashed, the other massive game that’s been in development at LucasArts for a long, long time is of course Star Wars: The Old Republic. We have seen a lot of goodies and gameplay for the RPG/MMO title starting at last year’s E3, but the folks from Bioware and EA reloaded and returned set to top themselves with an amazing new cinematic trailer.

Use the Schwartz to get yourselves over to the other side to see this trailer and much more as well! [...]

E3 2010: Leonard Nimoy Stars In ‘The Terminator’ With ‘Yoostar 2′ Movie Karaoke

The Movie God   |

Leonard Nimoy may have retired from acting on us, but that’s not stopping him from doing some top-notch fake acting. If you haven’t heard of the game Yoostar, it’s basically just like karaoke…but instead of singing, you get to put yourself right in the lead roles of your favorite movies of all time.

At E3 this week, Yoostar 2 was being shown off, and stars from Star Trek old and new were there to help test it out. The game runs using Microsoft’s motion system once known as Project Natal and now known as Kinect, recording your image, placing it where the familiar star of the movie usually stands as you read your lines on the screen. After, you can go back and now watch your Oscar-winning re-performance.

To test the game, Nimoy threw on some shades and stepped in front of the TV where he became none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger in The Terminator. Nimoy read the lines from the famous “I’ll be back” scene, and then watched it played back. [...]

E3 2010: ‘Fable 3′ Demo Shows Off Gameplay

Merkader   |

We’ve seen a few different trailers for Fable 3, but we haven’t seen too much gameplay footage, until now. Straight from E3 comes a 6-minute look at the demo that all the insiders got to play. One of the developers actually walks us through many of the new features of the next game in the successful franchise.

One of the new features is a new way to equip your items, instead of the menu of old, you see it all in a 3D environment. In the demo this looked visually pleasing, but cumbersome. The touch feature, where you can touch those in the environments is also featured. Another new piece is how spells are done. You now wear gauntlets on your hand for spells. Put a different spell on each hand and the spells are combined.

In Fable your actions always changed your appearance. Now in the game your actions also change the appearance of your weaponry. Enough about it from me, though, take a look below and let us know what you think in the comments. Will you be picking this game up when it comes out on October 26th? [...]

E3 2010: Surprise! Brand New ‘Twisted Metal’ On The Way

The Movie God   |

In the mid ’90s, a little video game called Twisted Metal ruled the PlayStation gaming system. This game allowed you to be many different characters with many different types of ridiculous vehicles and weapons, and basically just unleash hell on each other in all-out vehicular battle. It’s basically one of the godfathers to what gamers do every single day in online multiplayer death matches, and that makes it special.

Over the years, more Twisted Metal titles were released on the PlayStation, PS2, and PSP systems but none have really stood out since 2001′s Twisted Metal: Black, leaving fans of the series really wanting something new and exciting.

Enter E3 2010 and the surprise arrival of Eat Sleep Play’s David Jaffe and Scott Campbell, as well as a certain terrifying ice cream truck.

Drive and shoot your way over to the other side to see what they’ve been working on for the brand new Twisted Metal! [...]

E3 2010: Get Your First Look At ‘Portal 2′ Trailer & Gameplay

The Movie God   |

Portal is an incredibly popular game with a very faithful following. The tricky puzzle game with a subtle backstory and super-popular, deceptive villain sucks you in from the start and before you know it, it’s all over.

With a game like that, as you might imagine, a sequel has been demanded for a while. And with the game running fairly short and with three years now separating us from the original, you might also imagine that the fans’ demand has been something along the lines of “Where in the hell is our Portal 2 already!?!?”

Well, Valve has an answer to just such a question at E3 2010, and you can see what they brought with them by clicking over to the other side right now.

The first video you will see is of Valve’s Gabe Newell making the announcement at the Sony presentation, where they run the first trailer for Portal 2. The video after that is a hands-on demonstration that discusses the game, shows off actual gameplay, and talks details and when you might get your hands on it. [...]

E3 2010: Sony Shows Off ‘Move,’ Kevin Butler & Many Games!

The Movie God   |

All of the big video game corporations have made their presentations at E3 2010, and Sony certainly didn’t hold back.

The main focus of the makers of PlayStation 3 this year was of course, the PlayStation Move. This is the new motion sensor system that Sony has developed to compete with Microsoft’s Kinect (Project Natal) and of course, the Nintendo Wii.

At this time last year, it looked like both Sony and Microsoft had decent motion gaming systems on the way, but the memorable “Milo” demonstration using Natal had me personally thinking that Xbox would be standing the tallest soon. With everyone now having showed off their wares this year, those thoughts may have changed.

Swing your wand this way and that to transport yourself on over to the other side for much more from the Sony press conference, and to watch the whole video.

Now, don’t get me wrong: both of these new motion-based gaming additions can (and likely will, eventually) be great, but after this year’s demos, the PlayStation Move may have taken over in expectations. [...]

‘Spider-Man’ Director Sam Raimi Confirmed For ‘Wizard Of Oz’ Reboot

The Movie God   |

Just recently we ran a story that had multiple big-name directors and the high-profile projects that their names were said to be possible candidates for. Usually those never end up playing out, but it now appears that one of those names is officially the man for the job.

Deadline is reporting that Sam Raimi has officially come on board Oz: The Great and Powerful, the new movie from The Walt Disney Company that will offer an alternate perspective to the 1939 classic, The Wizard of Oz.

The movie will go back before the ’39 film and the films before that to L. Frank Baum‘s wonderful original story. It was at first thought that it would follow a traveling snake oil salesman who attempts to escape his life by way of hot air balloon and ends up in the magical lands of Oz, where he becomes that familiar wizard. Now it sounds like instead, the man will be a circus wrangler who’s swept away by a tornado. Reports state that a rewrite of the script are planned, so who knows what the final script will hold. E3 2010: ‘Metal Gear Solid: Rising’ Gameplay Trailer Cuts Deep

The Movie God   |

Metal Gear Solid is one of the most popular video game franchises of all time thanks in part to its stealthy spies and guns gameplay. Because of this, it was a bit of a shock when god of games Hideo Kojima announced a new title that would shake the gameplay style up just a little bit: Metal Gear Solid: Rising. That announcement was made at last year’s E3 convention, but this year, they brought a very cool new hands-on preview of the gameplay to show off.

This time around you’ll be playing as Raiden, a character who has shown up in previous games like Metal Gear Solid 2: Sons of Liberty and Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots as something of a pretty boy, but he’s nothing of the sort in this game.

Click on over to feast your eyes on the great new trailer for Metal Gear Solid: Rising, which opens with a cinematic and then gets to showing off the gameplay! [...]

E3 2010: ‘Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood’ Gameplay Picks Up Where You Last Left Off

The Movie God   |

It feels like Assassin’s Creed II just came out last week, but already the next game in the series is fast-approaching, and I for one am very much okay with this.

If you played the second game (which was actually released November 17 of last year), you know that we got a peek at the great city of Rome but didn’t really get to explore it. This was depressing, considering how incredible it looked, but all indications were that this is where we would get to pick up in the next game, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood.

Brotherhood will be released within one year of the last title, on November 16, 2010, and Ubisoft was in attendance at E3 to show off how the game is looking.

Blend into the crowds, stay in the shadows, and move on over to the other side to check out the devastating first peek at gameplay from Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood. [...]

E3 2010: Lionhead Delivers Brand New ‘Fable 3′ Gameplay Trailer

Merkader   |

Coming out of E3 this year is a new trailer for the highly anticipated Fable 3.

Watch it below.

At the end Fable 2, you become the kind Albion, the nation in the game. At the beginning of Fable 3, your old character is dead and you play as one of your sons. It is an interesting way to tie the two games together, if it is a little confusing.

There are two sons of your former character: one continues on to rule ruthlessly; the other, the one you play, is left to be homeless. Strange that one prince would get it all, while the other gets nothing. Hopefully this will be explained. What is a former prince left with nothing to do, but revolt against his brother to gain power, which is exactly what you do in the game [...]

E3 2010: First Gameplay For ‘Gears Of War 3′ Is Intense

The Movie God   |

The first actual gameplay footage from Epic Games’ much-anticipated sequel Gears of War 3 was shown off at E3, and my-oh-my is it looking pretty insane.

The amount of goodies and news coming out of the convention is completely absurd, and though we’ll be bringing you a portion of the really exciting stuff, make sure you head over to G4 for any and everything that unfolds pretty much as it happens! They actually have so much going on right now that my computer doesn’t seem to be able to handle their site, which makes getting these gems to share with you pretty tough. Because of this, we’ve adapted to the situation!

First of all, you all need to immediately go out and purchase the new fitness revolution, the Shake Weight, and use it 24 hours a day until Gears 3 comes out. That’s the only way that your arms will be up to par. After you’ve confirmed your order, head to the other side to see the crazy first look at gameplay! [...]

Trailer & Gameplay For ‘Hunted: The Demon’s Forge’ Arrive Online

The Movie God   |

Bethesda Softworks has released the new trailer for Hunted: The Demon’s Forge.

A significant amount of gameplay footage was also show off during G4′s coverage of E3, and since we love ourselves some gameplay, you can see both here and now!

The title is an action/fantasy co-op game that has you playing as an expert at distanced weapons like a bow or a warrior who likes to get up close and personal with his sword. As a co-op game, you can play with someone else, or, if you play the single player campaign, you’ll have the option to switch back and forth between characters.

Click on over to the other side to see the new trailer for Hunted: Demon’s Forge, as well as a video showing off the gameplay.

Hunted is one of the titles that Bethesda is only publishing; InXile Entertainment is developing. As they’ve grown as a company, they’ve grown into a major publisher of titles like Wet and upcoming titles Fallout: New Vegas and Rage. In fact, no one really knows what Bethesda is working on developing behind closed doors (please be Elder Scrolls V). [...]

DCU Online: E3 Sizzle Teaser Trailer

MK2Fac3   |

DCU Online posted a brand new teaser trailer on their Facebook page Saturday that will be featured at the upcoming E3 conference.

This new trailer focuses on a fan not having the experiences of “being born on Krypton” or “inheriting a fortune,” but having the desire to be in that universe. And with the Fall release of DCU Online’s MMORPG, fans and gamers will have the experience to do just that.

This trailer is the first real teaser that we have seen from the company regarding games, but it complements the previous character and territory spotlights including the recent video of Suicide Slums. More information is expected at this month’s E3 conference, so expect to see more from us in the near future.

This game is set to release this November courtesy of WB Games, DC Entertainment, and Sony Online Entertainment, and if anyone is interested, my PSN name is MK2Fac3, and I’ll be in Gotham City when this game is released, so come find me [...]

E3 2010: ‘Scott Pilgrim vs. The World’ Video Game Footage

The Geeks of Doom   |

Most of us know Scott Pilgrim from Bryan Lee O’Malley’s fantastic graphic novels. Others know it from the great looking movie, Scott Pilgrim vs. The World that is about to be released starring Michael Cera.

With E3 (Electronic Entertainment Expo) starting next week, game publisher Ubisoft wants you to know Scott Pilgrim in another way, as a really cool video game. Game footage was released prior to E3 — which you can watch here below — and it’s just what you would expect. In the Scott Pilgrim books there are a lot of references to old school video games, which is one of the reasons I love the series. Scott Pilgrim vs. The World: The Video Game looks to be taken from the era that the author is referencing.

The game is a side scrolling, multiplayer, button masher. Reminiscent of old games like Final Fight and Double Dragon. I loved those games growing up and I think I’m going to like this game as well [...]

Must Watch: E3 2010 Trailer For ‘Deus Ex 3′ Will Wow You

The Movie God   |

Edios Interactive and Square Enix have released a cinematic trailer for the long, long-awaited third chapter in the Deus Ex franchise, Deus Ex: Human Revolution. The trailer is being released in conjunction with the always-exciting upcoming gaming convention, E3 2010.

The games are of the first-person shooter variety, with elements of role-playing mixed in as well. The first title was released in 2000, and the second was put out in 2003, meaning that when this third adventure finally comes around in 2011, fans of the series will have been waiting just a little under a decade to get their hands on it.

Whether a long-time fan of the games or not, click on over to the other side to check out the trailer now! You shan’t be disappointed.

The catch with Human Revolution is that is will actually be a prequel to the first game, and the nanotechnology augmentations used in the other games has not been invented yet. This means that anatomical upgrades will be of the mechanical variety, but thanks to the current abilities in game development, it should all be very cool to see. [...]
