A trio of new Man of Steel character posters have been released by Warner Brothers, and can be seen below.
The posters show off star Henry Cavill as Superman, which we’ve seen plenty of; Michael Shannon as General Zod, which we’ve seen some of; and a nice close look at Russell Crowe as Jor-El, Superman’s father, who we haven’t seen much of…including his massive Kryptonian boomstick.

Microsoft Officially Unveils The Next-Gen Xbox, Named The XBOX ONE; No Always On

The day has arrived, ladies and gentlemen, and Microsoft has unveiled their next generation Xbox console. Presenting … the XBOX ONE.
Yes, we’re not sure why that’s the title they went with, either, considering this is now the third Xbox console. We knew the Xbox 720 was unlikely, but still.
That said, it’s only a title. Instead of taking the PlayStation 4 route and not showing the console during the console reveal, Microsoft did show what the new system will look like right off the bat. They also went into great detail about what you can expect from the new system.
Continue reading to see what the Xbox One looks like, what kind of power it has, and what kind of new features it offers, complete with videos. [...]

New Photos Of Professor X and Wolverine From ‘X-Men: Days Of Future Past’ Released

Director Bryan Singer tweeted a pair of new photos from the set of X-Men: Days of Future Past featuring a shaggy-looking Professor X (James McAvoy), a de-Beast-ified Hank McCoy (Nicholas Hoult), and – of course – Wolverine (Hugh Jackman) being the laconic badass as usual.
You can check them out here below [...]

First Photo Of Paul Giamatti As The Rhino In ‘Amazing Spider-Man 2′

Marc Webb, the director of next year’s web-slingin’ sequel The Amazing Spider-Man 2, has done a stand-out job keeping us posted on the production of the film via Twitter. Recently we’ve seen the first photos of Jamie Foxx as the villain Electro. Inevitably we would soon get a glimpse of Paul Giamatti as the second half of the movie’s super-powered baddie tag team, the Rhino.
True to form, Webb has now granted us the first photo of Giamatti in character and in action as the Rhino. You can check it out here below [...]

The “S” Marks The Spot In This New ‘Man Of Steel’ Poster

Oh wait, it’s not an “s”. It’s the Kryptonian symbol for hope. My bad.
The latest – and most likely final – poster for Man of Steel has been released. You can check it out here below.
It’s big, loaded with celebrity names, and is awe-inspiring. It also unsurprisingly recalls the iconic theatrical release for 1978′s Superman: The Movie, which featured the classic “S” shield displayed against a cloudy backdrop with a red, blue, and yellow streak blasting through it. The Man of Steel poster has Big Blue soaring to the top, but in the 1978 poster we already knew who was responsible for that rainbow-colored streak of life and light [...]

Geek Peek: Disney Offers First Look At New Animated Marvel Flick ‘Big Hero 6′

Ever since Disney acquired Marvel, many fans speculated some great animated flicks based on Marvel properties to come our way. Now the first major project may not be an A-list hero or even a B-list one, but it should generate interest in some of the more smaller titles that Marvel may have. We may have been inundated with so many live-action iterations of Marvel titles, but Big Hero 6 is one of the first of the Marvel titles that will be a full-length animated feature.
Steven T. Seagle and Duncan Rouleau are behind the success that is Big Hero 6, which features a group of rookie superheroes on a mission to save their city from an impending doom. Winnie The Pooh director Don Hall will helm the adaptation based on the hit comic, which is due out for release November 7, 2014. Hit the jump to check out the first footage of the film and two pieces of concept art. [...]

The last time the acclaimed Mexican filmmaker Alfonso Cuaron immersed his storytelling gifts in the genre of science fiction the result was the dystopian masterpiece Children of Men, arguably one of the greatest films made so far this century. Geek Peek: First Look At Megan Fox As April O’Neil In New ‘Ninja Turtles’

Whether the news of Transformers and Jennifer’s Body star Megan Fox being cast as April O’Neil in the Michael Bay-produced reboot of Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles enraged you or not, it’s something that is happening.
To prove it, some new images have been released of Fox as O’Neil for the movie. Basically the pictures are just Fox wearing some workout gear and holding a microphone—there’s no sign of the character’s full yellow jumpsuit; not that it will ever make an appearance in the movie—but you can check them out and share your thoughts below nevertheless. Simon Pegg Tweets New Poster For ‘The World’s End’

Seems like every year Hollywood gets hooked on a certain movie genre and becomes bound and determined to make every third or fourth theatrical release an entry in that genre. This year we’re getting a trio of apocalyptic comedies, all three hitting this summer and two of them co-starring Craig Robinson. But only one of them reunites director Edgar Wright with his frequent creative collaborators Simon Pegg and Nick Frost, the same all-star team that gave us the classic British comedy series Spaced and the mind-blowing quotable cult masterpieces Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, and that is The World’s End.
Pegg recently tweeted a link to the latest poster for The World’s End in advance of the movie’s first trailer, scheduled to debut later this week. You can check out the tweet and poster here below. [...]

Check It Out: The Unused ‘Iron Man 3′ Opening Credits Sequence

Over the weekend, Iron Man 3 grossed over $175 million at the box office. I guess it’s safe to say that the latest installment in the franchise that launched Marvel Studios as one of the dominant forces in the entertainment industry is a bonafide blockbuster – Our own FamousMonster shares his opinions on the movie here – and we shall see more adventures of Tony Stark and his armored alter ego on the screen in the years to come. Hopefully, star Robert Downey Jr. will be there most of the way.
That’s just groovy. After the overhyped wet noodle that was Iron Man 2 – a heavily compromised production that also served as an abject lesson for how Marvel prioritizes its future cinematic projects from there on – it was great to see an Iron Man sequel that not only held its own with the spectacular 2008 original, but even managed its own sizable share of epic action sequences to rival the finale of last year’s The Avengers. Fanboys cried foul over how certain characters were handled, but on the whole I thought director Shane Black was the perfect person to resurrect ol’ Shellhead as a force to be reckoned with among modern movie heroes. I will say no more because right now you should drop what you are doing and go see Iron Man 3.
Recently an unknown source posted screen grabs from an beautiful animated opening credits sequence that was created but ultimately discarded from the final cut of Iron Man 3 in favor of opening with narration from Downey. You can view a complete gallery of those grabs here below [...]

Marvel Hammers Us With New ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Stills and Plot Details

Even in the Marvel Universe, when you’re an ageless Norse god of thunder who can ride the lightning like no one’s business and call a living heavy metal album cover home, you can still tick off your girlfriend.
“Thor still has lot of explaining to do, and a lot of making up,” said Chris Hemsworth, the star of Thor: The Dark World, the next movie in Marvel Studios’ Phase Two line-up following next month’s Iron Man 3. “Even demigods end up in the doghouse, mate. So none of us is safe.”
Speaking to Bryan Alexander of USA Today, Hemsworth and Marvel’s president of production Kevin Feige discussed some modest details of the plot of the Alan Taylor-directed sequel – mostly regarding the relationship between the mighty Thor and his earthbound sweetheart Jane Foster (Natalie Portman), whom he was forced to abandon at the end of the first movie.
As you see in the still below, Portman’s character gets to spend a little time with Thor in Asgard when events on her home planet insist [...]

By Odin’s Bristling Beard! Check Out This Mighty New ‘Thor: The Dark World’ Poster

Hot on the heels of the first trailer that was released this morning, we have the first official poster for Thor: The Dark World.
You can check it out here below.
Yea, ’tis a mighty image worthy of the god of thunder, but me suspects one of Marvel Studios’ customary “crowd as many faces into the space as possible” posters will be in the offering as we inch closer to the movie’s release. [...]

Photo Gallery: ‘Oblivion’ Bubbleship From The Hollywood Premiere

On my way last week to the Black Sabbath listening party in Hollywood, there was a buzz in the air as the premiere of the new Tom Cruise scifi vehicle Oblivion, was getting ready for Tinseltown. The premiere took place at the Dolby Theatre (formerly known as the Kodak Theatre) on Hollywood Blvd between Highland Ave. and La Brea., which is pretty much the hub of all things entertainment in America.
As the following photos below will show, fans got an exclusive glimpse of the ship – which we talked to you about in our 2013 WonderCon coverage. Be sure to also check out our review of the film [...]
