For all of you hybrid geeks out there, such as myself, who love sports as much as they love movies and games — here’s some more good old fashioned Ultimate Fighting Championship action for you. This time we’re looking at the 11th and 12th volumes of UFC Classics.
The last time I reviewed UFC Classics, it was for volumes 5, 6, 7, and 8. When I did that review, there was oh, so much I could say about the UFC as a very passionate fan of mixed martial arts. Unfortunately, I didn’t know that I would have the chance to do more of these reviews, which leaves me with much less to say. This becomes a problem, as it’s very difficult to actually review fights. You can read my previous review here to catch up: DVD Review: UFC Classics Collection Volumes 5-8
These classic events are still back when the UFC was still a no rules competition that was banned in many countries. Being a big fan of the sport, I can watch these and find entertainment, but if you’re not a super-fan, you may not be as impressed. [...]

Video: Super Bowl Madness: Watch The Biggest Movie TV Spots Now!
It’s usually the biggest TV day of the year: Super Bowl Sunday. If you’re a sports fan, you’re excited about the game, and if you hate sports, you still watch to see the legendary commercial lineup in hopes of seeing some marketing brilliance.
Among all of these commercials each year, we also get some peeks at the year’s biggest upcoming movies and this year is no slouch. In fact, this may just be the BIGGEST Super Bowl for movie previews that we’ve ever seen.
Personally, I’m a huge sports fan, so I’m usually watching the big game… but this year is a pretty boring match-up, so it’s fitting that the telecast will be riddled with huge movie peeks.
We’ve already posted the one for the new Star Trek preview, but here you can see the Super Bowl spots for massive summer fare such as: Up!, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, The Year One, Race to Witch Mountain, Land of the Lost, and yes, oh yes… Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen.
Venture to the other side for all of the TV spot video goodness! [...]

DVD Review: UFC Classics Collection, Vol. 5-8
You may be asking yourself “Hey, what the hell is this sports stuff on a Geek site!?” and the answer to that is… hell, I don’t know, leave me alone!
As you all know, we cover all forms of media, including DVDs. This paired with the fact that I fancy myself a geek/sports fanatic hybrid who loves himself a little UFC means, a special review for all the other hybrids out there, UFC Classics Collection, Vol. 5-8!
I’ve been watching Mixed Martial Arts (MMA) since around 1993, which is a little before when these DVDs took place. Here we have UFC 5, 6, 7 and 8 which was a time much different than what the sport has now evolved to. Fitting enough, we just very recently had UFC 91 take place, so it’s been a long road.
The sport is easily the fastest growing one out there right now, but it is commonly mistaken as barbaric and it is often titled “human cock fighting” — nothing like that super-duper boxing thing everyone cherishes. The truth is, MMA is the ultimate in human competition and it’s a hell of a lot more safer than it looks. Yeah, sometimes there’s blood and maybe a broken bone, but to date, only one death and that was at some very low, probably illegal event. Most of the time when a dude goes down in MMA the fight gets stopped, unlike boxing which allows men to repeatedly have their brains shaken around in their skull like a freakin’ maraca. Oh, and let us not forget… technically, fishing is the most dangerous sport out there. Case closed.
Alright, now that the love letter is over, on we go [...]

Wimbledon
Of one of the most typically British sports, which modestly had its roots begin in Middle to Upper class ‘Posh’ England all those years ago, we come to today, a final being played by two typically non-British.
