Watch Now: The New Trailer For ‘The Expendables 2′ Is Pure Man Candy

Yesterday no less an authority than President Camacho himself, Terry freakin’ Crews, promised us that a new trailer for The Expendables 2 would be arriving online today to put a blood-and-skull-splattered boot in our collective ass. Sure enough as I sit here with The Dirty Dozen, the original (and still best) of the all-star superteam action-adventures, playing in the background I sit here writing this: Today Crews’ loud and awful snarly promise was fulfilled.
You can watch the mighty new trailer here below.
I’m a huge fan of the first Expendables, but having re-watched it on Blu-ray recently it’s clear that the movie has serious problems when it comes to the narrative structure and the staging of the action sequences. Don’t get me wrong, Sylvester Stallone did a fine job directing the movie overall, especially when you take into account that he was also writing and starring in the movie at the same time (and taking some near-paralyzing injuries in the process). But when the aging but still active action hero announced that a new director would take the helm of The Expendables 2 while he stuck to acting duties I took a great amount of relief in that news [...]

Check Out The Trailer For The Cyberpunk Short Film ‘Reboot’

Reboot is an interesting sci-fi/mystery short film set in the world of hackers that was written and directed by Joe Kawasaki and stars Emily Somers, Travis Aaron Wade, Martin Copping, and Sonalii Castillo. The film will be previewing at Defcon, the largest gathering of hackers in the world, this July in Las Vegas. The production funds were raised through a Kickstarter page and it’s not too late for you to make a donation.

‘The Expendables 2′ Teaser Is Fueled By Terry Crews’ Massive Muscles and Vocal Cords

The latest trend for the major movie studios out there is to release a trailer for the trailer. Prometheus has done it, we’ve seen one for Total Recall, and now we are getting the trailer for trailer treatment for The Expendables 2, the action-filled testosterone-fueled sequel to the 2010 hit film.
The video (which you can check out below) starts off with actor Terry Crews shouting at you like some burley boot camp leader trying to motivate you to do those five extra pushups you can never do. He introduces a very short, but explosive clip that doesn’t reveal much or tell us anything about the movie itself. It’s perhaps the least effective teaser for the full trailer I have seen in quite a while [...]

‘Call Of Duty: Black Ops II’ Officially Announced; Watch The Debut Trailer Now!

It’s been rumored for a while now, and Activision has now made it official: this year’s installment of the Call of Duty franchise will be Call of Duty: Black Ops II.
The not so expected part is the game’s setting. Would it continue the ’60s-set Cold War storyline seen in the first game? Would it re-visit well-traveled ground like World War II or modern day warfare? As it turns out, it’s none of those things. Black Ops II will take us to new places in the Call of Duty franchise: the future. [...]

‘The Dark Knight Rises’ Viral Campaign Premieres New Trailer

Earlier today a viral marketing campaign for The Dark Knight Rises hit the web. All around the world, chalk markings of bats were left for fans to photograph and catalog. With each new photograph, a new frame of the trailer was revealed at TDKR07202012.com.
Well kids, the final chalk marking was found, the final frame set in place. As a reward for completing the viral campaign, Warner Bros. Pictures has released a brand new trailer for The Dark Knight Rises, the epic conclusion to Christopher Nolan‘s Dark Knight legend.
Watch it here below! [...]

Watch Now: Trailer For ‘Knocked Up’ (Sort Of) Sequel ‘This Is 40′

The first trailer for Judd Apatow‘s sequel/spinoff to the 2007 Seth Rogen and Katherine Heigl comedy Knocked Up, titled This Is 40, has been released online.
The movie stars Paul Rudd and Leslie Mann as the same characters they played in Knocked Up as they deal with all of the troubles and adjustments that come with hitting 40 years of age.
You can check out the first trailer for This Is 40 by heading below now. [...]

New International Trailer For Ridley Scott’s ‘Prometheus’

20th Century Fox has unleashed an extended international trailer for Ridley Scott‘s anticipated return to the science-fiction genre, Prometheus. The above image is a holographic glimpse of a Space Jockey. Where’s he going? What’s the rush?
He’s probably going to check out this amazing new trailer, which features tons of new footage and further elaborates on the film’s plot. A pair of archaeologists (Noomi Rapace and Logan Marshall-Green) have discovered the same pictogram among ancient civilizations with no shared contact, unveiling a star map with coordinates that could lead to mankind’s origins [...]

Watch The Trailer For Metallica Fan Documentary ‘Mission To Lars’
 |
Posted by Obi-Dan | April 26th, 2012 at 4:35 pm |

Tom Spicer is fanatical about Metallica. During the day he makes animal bedding out of recycled materials, but it is after work that he gets to indulge in his favorite band, in particular verbose drummer Lars Ulrich. For years all Tom has ever wanted is to meet Lars and hence the name of the documentary: Mission To Lars.
What makes this such an interesting looking film is that not only does Spicer live in England – and Lars Ulrich thousands of miles away – but he has Fragile X syndrome, a kind of “autism with bells on” is the description from Tom’s sister in the trailer. But more than just a road movie about a man wanting to meet his hero, Mission To Lars is also a story of sibling love and trying to rekindle that [...]

Watch The First Trailer For John Hillcoat’s Prohibition-Era Crime Drama ‘Lawless’

One of my most anticipated films to be released this year is Lawless, the latest feature from Australian filmmaker John Hillcoat — the director of the blisteringly brilliant 2005 western The Proposition and the 2009 screen adaptation of Cormac McCarthy’s Pulitzer Prize-winning novel The Road — that is based on the acclaimed historical novel The Wettest County in the World by Matt Bondurant.
Now, the first trailer for the film has made its debut online. You can watch the trailer here below [...]

‘God Of War 4′ Accidentally Confirmed; Trailer For ‘Ascension’ Released

A fourth title in the God of War franchise (of the primary games, anyway) has been fully expected since God of War III came and went, with whispers of it picking up recently after a tease by Sony led many to believe it would be for God of War IV.
But before Sony could make the big reveal, Amazon made a bit of a woopsie by putting the game up on their site a day early (pre-order now), accidentally confirming what many were already suspecting. [...]

‘The Baytown Disco’ Trailer Reminds Us How Much Fun Southern Crime Can Be
 |
Posted by eelyajekiM | April 19th, 2012 at 9:00 pm |

The Baytown Disco follows the story of three Southern brothers whose life of crime leads them to a job where they have to play as the good guys. But before you can peg this as some sort of awful direct to DVD flick, take a look at the very awesome trailer here below. It will convince you that The Baytown Disco is the kind of popcorn slam-bang actioner that we’ve been waiting for.
The trailer is filled with eye-popping action, animated title explosions, plenty of foul-mouthed characters, and stripper assassins. Yep stripper assassins. Did I mention that the film stars Billy Bob Thornton as a ruthless mobster and Eva Longoria as a godmother requesting that the brothers bring back her godson from her ex-husband [...]

Two ‘Cosmopolis’ Trailers Mark The Return Of David Cronenberg’s Bizarre Mind
 |
Posted by eelyajekiM | April 19th, 2012 at 8:00 pm |

Admittedly I was never a fan of Robert Pattinson to begin with. For one thing his pasty sparkly complexion ruined the reputation of the cinematic vampire. But after watching the teaser for David Cronenberg’s Cosmopolis, I was very interested in seeing how he changed from swooning bloodsucker to eccentric billionaire looking for a simple hair cut. Now two full trailers have shown that he is going to silence all the haters with his dark and twisted performance. Check it out after the jump.
It’s been a while since we’ve seen something like this from David Cronenberg, who has been steering clear of these odd and twisted movies. So directing Cosmopolis is a very welcomed return [...]

New Game ‘Dishonored’ From Bethesda, Arkane Gets A Cinematic Trailer

A pretty insane new cinematic trailer has been released for Dishonored, the new game being developed by Arkane Studios and published by Bethesda Softworks.
The game has a strange but highly intriguing setting that fuses together the past and the future in what’s known as Neo-Victorian—a combination of Victorian or Edwardian aesthetics with modern technologies and principles—that’s considered to be right along the same lines steampunk. [...]

‘Beware The Batman’ Teaser Trailer Gives Us A Look At The Batmobile
 |
Posted by MK2Fac3 | April 18th, 2012 at 7:00 pm |

DC Entertainment and Cartoon Network have released a first look at Beware The Batman in the form of a short teaser trailer, which you can see in its entirety here below.
The trailer, which showcases a Batmobile speeding through a tunnel (Batcave maybe?), gives us a better look at the animation style of the new series. While we knew that this was going to be a CG series, we have yet to see the actual product yet. Well, there’s a couple of things to note here, which we’ll get to after you watch the video [...]

Trailer: ‘Area 407′ Combines ‘LOST’ and ‘Jurassic Park’ Through Found Footage

The first trailer for an upcoming movie titled Area 407 ha been released.
The movie is of the found footage variety, filmed by two teenage sisters who are on their way to Los Angeles from New York. Their plane fights through terrible turbulence caused by severe weather and eventually crashes in a remote government testing reserve dubbed Area 407, where, as you might have guessed, very bad things lurk.
You can check out the trailer for Area 407 below. [...]

Watch Now: Teaser Trailer For New ‘Star Trek’ Video Game Released

A new teaser trailer for the upcoming Star Trek video game from Namco Bandai has been released online.
As we found out last June at E3, the game looks to channel BioWare’s Mass Effect series in terms of (most of) its gameplay, and the game will act as a bridge from J.J. Abrams’ 2009 blockbuster reboot of the beloved Trek universe and the sequel that’s currently set for a 2013 release. [...]

Watch Now: The ‘Looper’ Teaser Trailer Is Full Of Sound & Fury Signifying Something

The first trailer for Brick writer-director Rian Johnson‘s forthcoming sci-fi action thriller Looper, which has been teased relentlessly all week, has been released today by Columbia Pictures and Film District. You can check it out here below.
Looper takes place in a world where time travel exists, but only as black market technology used by the mob to eliminate their enemies. They send hired killers, called “loopers,” thirty years into the past with their quarry. Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays a looper whose life is threatened when his employers decide to target his future self (Bruce Willis) for assassination [...]

Watch The ‘Total Recall’ Trailer With Commentary By Director Len Wiseman

The trailer for the new adaptation of Total Recall (I hesitate to use the term “remake” since this movie, much like Paul Verhoeven’s 1990 movie, is based on Philip K. Dick‘s 1966 short story “We Can Remember It For You Wholesale”) was unveiled a week ago to little fanfare and the expected gnashing teeth of devoted fans of the Verhoeven movie and haters of remakes and reboots in general looking to justify the kind of boiled-over rage directed at this movie that you wouldn’t often find outside of Tea Party gatherings and Bill O’Reilly’s dressing room. To help alleviate rising concerns about the film’s fidelity – or lack thereof – to its source and the fact that it looks like just about every futuristic actioner out there (OOH! FLYING CARS!) the trailer for Total Recall is being presented complete with a few audio comments from the movie’s director Len Wiseman.
You can watch the trailer with Wiseman’s commentary here below [...]

Watch Simon Pegg Get Surreal In New ‘A Fantastic Fear of Everything’ Trailer

In recent years Simon Pegg, the multi-talented British actor/writer who has become a hero to geeks everywhere thanks to Shaun of the Dead and Hot Fuzz, has been balancing out roles in big-budget Hollywood blockbusters like Star Trek and Mission Impossible: Ghost Protocol with smaller and odder films like Paul and Burke and Hare. Most of Pegg’s fans tend to forget that he started his career in wonderfully out there British television series like Asylum, Big Train, and of course Spaced – the cult classic comedy he created with Edgar Wright and Jessica Hynes. Now that Pegg is a bonafide star and confirmed good luck charm for any franchise that wants to employ his talents (even the Ice Age movies), he has the clout to make darker, riskier films where he can do more than deliver funny lines with that priceless British comic timing of his.
Such a movie is Pegg’s latest, A Fantastic Fear of Everything, and the movie now has a trailer. You can watch it here below [...]
