Xbox One Reveal: Videos Offer First Look At ‘Call Of Duty: Ghosts’

In case you missed it, Microsoft showed off their Xbox 360 follow-up, the Xbox One, earlier today. As promised, video games weren’t a very big part of the presentation as this particular event was dedicated to showing the console and talking about the company’s vision for the future. The games will be on full display when E3 arrives next month.
There were, however, a couple of video game-related topics covered, the biggest of which was the next installment in the Call of Duty franchise, Call of Duty: Ghosts, which is Infinity Ward’s follow-up to Modern Warfare 3. The game smartly looks to up the story—with the help of Oscar-winning Traffic screenwriter and Syriana writer-director Stephen Gaghan—instead of just the action, and will hopefully keep the series fresh and fun.
A look at the game’s next-gen tech and new features was offered first, followed by the reveal trailer. Continue below now to check them out. [...]

Third Person/Action Adventure/Puzzle Game
Rating: M
Developer: Crystal Dynamics
Publisher: Square Enix
Designer: Darrell Gallagher
Writer: Rhianna Pratchett
Artists: Visual Works (CGI)

Release Date: March 5, 2013
Not to sound like that old guy, but I can remember playing the original Tomb Raider back in 1996, dear God I am old. I was in college and I was living with a few friends, and we were taking turns playing the game, while the other helped out by reading the walkthrough. I don’t think we ever beat it, but there were some fun times either way. I think I dabbled in the series as it continued on various systems, but never really got into enough that I finished the game. Any time a game revolves around timed jumps so perfectly timed, that is where I fail in video games.
But when I heard they were rebooting the series and giving us a sort of prequel, I was interested in checking it out. And much like most things on the internet, the initial buzz was not favorable, well that was until people actually got to see it and play it. [...]

EA Kills Off Online Pass; Could This Confirm Blocked Used Games On Next-Gen Consoles?

Electronic Arts is not the most popular company around at the moment. In fact, they were just voted the worst company in America for the second year in a row. This is largely due to their relentless pursuit of more money via microtransactions and their attempts at trying to control consumers with the Online Pass system—a system that requires you to enter a code in order to play one of their games online, effectively stopping people from buying used games (unless you wanted to pay an extra $10 for a new code) or borrowing them from a friend.
People have been enraged about these things for a while now, and have let EA know it every chance they’ve had, including with the consecutive worst company titles mentioned above. But it appears the company is listening to these complaints and are looking to do some repair work.
It’s been confirmed by EA that they will no longer being using the Online Pass system in future games, which should mean that you’ll be able to use all of one of their games’ features after you buy it, new or used. [...]

Watch Now: Superhero President Battles Aliens In New ‘Saints Row 4′ Trailer

A new trailer has been released for Volition’s sequel to Saints Row: The Third, which will be simply titled Saints Row IV.
The trailer shows the Saints leader—who’s now president—and the alien invasion he has to now deal with as the man in charge. It’s absolutely insane and absurd…just as you’d expect a Saints Row game to look. Anything more tame would only be a let down.
The game is now being published by Deep Silver after THQ filed for bankruptcy, but is still on course for an August 20, 2013 release and can be pre-ordered on Xbox 360, PS3, and PC now. You can check out the new trailer for Saints Row IV below now. [...]
