Check Out This New ‘Prometheus’ Featurette

“The adventures begins,” says David, the android (they prefer the term ‘artificial person’) portrayed by Michael Fassbender in Ridley Scott’s new film Prometheus. David is commenting on the Prometheus crew’s first steps on an alien world – a world that could hold the secret to humanity’s origins.
In this new 1:39 featurette, which you can watch here below, director Ridley Scott talks about his return to science-fiction with Prometheus, a film 30 years in the making. “It’s all about everything,” says Scott at Pinewood Studios, an unfinished interior set of the Space Jockey room behind him [...]

Happy 75th Birthday, George Takei!

Happy Birthday to George Takei! The actor, best known for his role as Hikaru Sulu, helmsman of the USS Enterprise in the original Star Trek, turns 75 today.
In honor of Takei’s birthday, the geeky band Five Year Mission recorded a song and made a very cool video for the occasion, touting Sulu as the “23rd century’s samurai from outer space.” Takei delightfully shared the video on his prolific Facebook page, stating “This may be the best birthday video ever. I’m smiling ear to ear.”
You can watch the video here below [...]

James Cameron Says You’ll Have To Pry ‘Battle Angel’ From His Cold Dead Hands
 |
Posted by eelyajekiM | April 18th, 2012 at 9:00 pm |

As much as we would all like to see a Battle Angel movie being directed by James Cameron, we all knew that the adaptation would have to take a back seat since the director announced that he would be working on the Avatar sequels. And while those sequels have yet to shoot, Cameron is giving us his word that Battle Angel is coming, just not as soon as you like to think.
In an interview with MTV, Cameron did drop a few hints about the Avatar sequels saying it would bring an awareness to the relationship that man and nature share. He also claims that the story of the Avatar sequels are much more important to tell than the story of Battle Angel. I’m sure Battle Angel fans beg to differ [...]

Unlock Michael Fassbender’s Emotions In The New Viral Video For ‘Prometheus’
 |
Posted by eelyajekiM | April 17th, 2012 at 6:00 pm |

Oh how excited I would be if Fox generously put a David-8 android on my doorstep. Earlier today we posted an article about the latest product from Weyland Industries, which is actually one of the key elements in the Prometheus viral marketing campaign. The video detailed all the aspects of what the David-8 was programmed and designed for, and now a new video has surfaced detailing the emotions of the android (to be played by Michael Fassbender).
Hit the jump if you want to know more details about the fascination robot.
As stated in the earlier video, Weyland Industries’ David-8 lack the ability to express any human emotion and are programmed to perform the tasks that humans deem questionable and unethical. But a new video has the ability to unlock those emotions that were otherwise considered unlockable. In the gallery here below are four of my favorite emotions [...]

Video: Tupac’s Ghost Performs At Coachella Music Festival
 |
Posted by Not Sure | April 17th, 2012 at 2:00 pm |

Tupac died 15 years ago, but through the magic of Pepper’s Ghost, the crowd at last weekend’s Coachella music festival in California got a chance to be simultaneously thrilled and weirded out by a rapping, walking, and talking Tupac, who “took” the stage with his former running mate Snoop Dogg, aka Snoop D-O Double Gizzle.
Below is a probably NSFW [language] video of the performance, and honestly, it does sorta trick you into thinking Tupac is actually there. Snoop plays his part in the ruse, ably rapping alongside his slain friend, though I’m sure that, thanks to the marijuana, Snoop has rapped with ghosts before [...]

New ‘Prometheus’ Viral Video Introduces Us To Michael Fassbender’s David 8
 |
Posted by Dave3 | April 17th, 2012 at 12:06 pm |

While I was sitting in the theater watching Cabin In The Woods this weekend I was galvanized in my belief that knowing as little as possible about the actual events of a film before you see it makes for a much more enjoyable and organic entertainment experience. Trailers ruin movies for people every goddamn day. Before you even purchase your ticket, the chance that you’ve likely already seen every key scene, explosion, death, punchline, and catch-phrase is pretty high.
But this new viral video for Prometheus — this is how you promote a film without giving away the freakin’ beginning, ending, and everything in between.
Watch the video here after the jump [...]

 |
Posted by Not Sure | April 16th, 2012 at 7:00 pm |

With a jetpack fueled by insomnia and an easily amused mind, From the Interwebs scours and sifts through everything that has ever appeared on the internet (more or less) to find a few things that you should know about every week. These things come from the interwebs, hence the clever name.
This week we have Rocky 4 with robots, CD art, Tobias Fünke, a Marvel Dance-Off, and child celebrities responding to Kirk Cameron [...]

Watch ‘Hoarders: Skyrim’ Edition

You know that A&E television series Hoarders? It’s a reality show where a homeowner has collected so much stuff in their house that they can’t walk through it or sleep on their bed, and half the time, these people can’t even get into their bathrooms. The A&E crew will come in and try to help these hoarders clear their extreme cluster, finding not only tons of unnecessary stuff, but also lots of bugs, rat feces, and sometimes even rodent skeletons.
Now, the folks over at College Humor show us what the A&E series would be like if it took place in the world of Skyrim.
Check out the video here below of Hoarders: Skyrim [...]

Check Out Every Jump Of The General Lee From ‘The Dukes Of Hazzard’ Seasons 1-6

Here’s a pretty cool compilation for all you sons and daughters of baby boomers who were their kids in the late 1970s and early 1980s! If you were a hair above a little tyke back then who used to stay home on Friday nights like I did when I was just turning the corner into my teenage hood, then it’s a sure bet you couldn’t wait for the latest episode of The Dukes of Hazzard, the hit CBS show that took the adventures and escapades of two “good ol’ boys” and brought them into the homes of millions.
A person by the name of Treva Graham has made a compilation of every jump of the “The General Lee” during Seasons 1 through 6. The famous vehicle, a 1969 Dodge Charger, was like its own character on the program, which originally ran on the air from 1979 to 1985. Check out the video here below [...]

Watch Tony Stark and Loki Share Some Tense Words In This New Clip From ‘The Avengers’

A new clip from The Avengers has been released today. You can watch it here below.
What this is basically is an extended version of the “Head Count” TV spot with Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), out of the Iron Man armor, educating vengeful fallen god Loki (Tom Hiddleston) about the impressive roster of superheroes that have been assembled to oppose him. I love watching characters from two different comic book movies meeting up on screen while being played by the same actors. The Avengers is the ultimate Marvel Universe movie and I couldn’t be more stoked for its release [...]

Watch Now: The Trailer For ‘Evil Dead 2′ Gets Rotoscoped

I am a fan of all things related to Evil Dead 2 (Order the 25th Anniversary Edition Blu-ray here), Sam Raimi‘s classic 1986 sequel to the gruesome and horrifying splatterpunk epic that launched his directing career. It’s my absolute favorite movie of all time and nothing will ever, nor can ever, replace it.
There’s a video that has been floating around online for nearly three years in which the last 45 seconds of the movie’s trailer has been animated using the technology known as rotoscoping, where live-action footage is traced over frame-by-frame by animators.
You can watch the video here below [...]

Presenting ‘Titanic Super 3D’ As Envisioned by George Lucas, J.J. Abrams & Michael Bay

The 3D-converted re-release of James Cameron‘s 1997 Oscar-winning blockbuster Titanic didn’t exactly set the box office afire this weekend as it had did back in its day, forcibly ensconced in the number three spot behind The Hunger Games and American Reunion. But considering that the movie had already grossed over $1 billion worldwide in theaters and millions more on video and DVD and that 3D re-releases aren’t usually huge ticket sellers unless it’s a really slow weekend (and the summer movie season is currently in our cross hairs), this could hardly be considered a major loss for Cameron and the studio. In any case the director still has his deep sea scientific expeditions and the Avatar franchise, which should resume sometime before the bicentennial of the sinking of the Titanic, to consume his livelihood for the rest of time [...]

Watch Guy Pearce Kick All Kinds Of Ass In The First 5 Minutes Of ‘Lockout’

The first five minutes of the upcoming Luc Besson-produced sci-fi action flick Lockout have been released. You can watch the action-packed clip here below.
The movie gets right into the thick of the action with a cheeky introduction to our hero Snow (Guy Pearce), an ex-CIA agent who gets set up, double-crossed, and sent to prison. The introduction intercuts his interrogation-cum-face pounding with the backstory as to how he got there. There’s a thrilling chase, some close quarters fisticuffs, and Pearce gets plenty of wiseass one-liners. Don’t know about you folks but I’ll take this over that Total Recall remake any day. Lockout may be derivative as hell, but it sure ain’t afraid to wear its influences with a shit-eating grin of pride [...]

Watch This Video Of The Celebrity Callers From ‘Frasier’

On the sitcom Frasier, which was a spin-off from Cheers, Kelsey Grammer’s Dr. Frasier Crane moved from Boston to Seattle to live his post-divorced life with his disabled retired cop father, Martin, and his father’s British live-in physical therapist Daphne. Instead of opening up his own practice in town, the psychiatrist took a job at the local radio station as the host of a self-help talk show. Each day, people would call in about their problems and Frasier would dole out the advice like only Dr. Crane could.
The television series ran for 11 seasons from 1993 to 2004, and I could go on and on about how it was one of the greatest sitcoms ever, how it still stands up over time, and how there’s so much about it that’s awesome. But, one of the cool things about Frasier is that for Dr. Crane’s radio show, the callers were typically celebrities doing voice cameos. Below is a 6-minute video montage of some of the most famous callers, so check it out [...]

Watch This Stop-Motion Animation Of Hemingway’s ‘The Old Man and the Sea’

Everyone’s familiar with Ernest Hemingway 1952 story The Old Man and the Sea – the classic tale of a downtrodden old fisherman who ventures out to sea where he hooks a marlin that won’t give in too easily. The story turns into an epic struggle between man and fish, as well as a triumph of wills.
Artist Marcel Schindler has created a stop-motion animation of his illustrative narrative of Hemingway’s The Old Man and the Sea. You can watch the 4-minute video here below [...]

Watch ‘Alien: The Easter Edition’

In space no one can hear you… celebrate the resurrection of Jesus.
An astronaut discovers a mysterious egg wrapped in festive cellophane. He tears away the plastic wrap, removes his helmet, and investigates the giant chocolate egg when all of a sudden, something bursts forth through the candy-stuffed insides…
In perhaps the funniest homage to Alien since Mel Brooks’ 1987 film, Spaceballs (Hello my baby, hello my honey!), Geoff Gedroyc and Will Tribble have created a delightful Easter spoof filled with chocolate Facehuggers and vicious chest-bursting Easter bunnies. You can watch the video here below [...]
