Empress Eve   |

Big Hero 6 Baymax Winner of Most Huggable Character of 2015

Baymax from Disney’s Big Hero 6 has been named the Most Huggable Character of 2015 for National Hugging Day today. The holiday, which is observed each year on January 21, is meant to encourage people all over the world to show affection in public through hugging.

The Big Hero 6 star, who accepted the award from his home in San Fransokyo, humbly attributed the win to his “non-threatening, huggable design” and reportedly plans on giving and receiving hugs from all throughout the year.

You can get hugs throughout the year from the adorable superheroic companion robot with your own 10″ Baymax Plush Figure with Sound Effects. And check out the clip here below of Baymax’s most huggable moments from Big Hero 6, which will be released on Blu-ray and DVD on February 24, 2015.

Netflix Hosts ‘Madagascar’ New Year’s Eve Countdown On-Demand For The Kids
Empress Eve   |

Netflix Madagascar King Julien New Year's Eve Countdown to 2015

New Year’s Eve is tomorrow, so if you want to ring in the New Year with your very little ones, but don’t want them to stay up til the stroke of midnight, Netflix has a solution for you.

Netflix has created an on-demand New Year’s Eve Countdown program on their streaming service that can be watched beforehand, because from what I understand there are people who on New Year’s Eve fool their small children into thinking it’s midnight earlier than when it is, so that they’ll go to sleep on time.

The Netflix countdown is a 3-minute short featuring King Julien, the star of their new series All Hail King Julien, a spin-off of DreamWorks Animations’ Madagascar film. The Countdown is available right now in the U.S., Canada, Latin America, UK, Ireland, the Nordics, the Netherlands, and France.

Neighborhood Syncs Lights To Music For Christmas Celebration (Videos)
The Movie God   |

Neighborhood Christmas Lights Show

If you’ve ever been on the internet (that’s this fancy doodad you’re using now), you’ve more than likely seen a video of a house synchronizing their holiday lights and decorations to music. We’ve seen it done using video game music; we’ve seen it done for non-Christmas holidays like Halloween; we’ve seen some good, hard metal used; and, most recently, we’ve seen a very cool Star Wars-themed lights show.

On this Christmas Eve we have for you just some lights set to Christmas music. That may sound a bit boring, sure, but the catch here is that an entire neighborhood got in on the action and synced all of their lights together. They filmed the results using a drone, and then capped it all off with a pretty spectacular little holiday celebration that will make you wish you lived there. All that’s missing is some good snow falling.

You can see all of the videos below.

Must See: ‘Star Wars’-Themed Christmas Lights Show (Video)
The Movie God   |

Star Wars: The Force Awakens Christmas Lightsaber

Everyone can appreciate a good Christmas lights and decorations display. It takes a lot of time and effort to put them all together, and they help greatly in getting everyone who sees them in more of a festive mood, which is nice.

But if you really want to win Christmas, it takes something truly special. Like, oh, say…a full lights show set to the best of John Williams‘ musical score for the Star Wars movies, for example. Someone did just that, and even included a couple of light beams having a lightsaber battle in the middle of the must-see display.

You Need This Light-Up ‘Star Wars’ Yoda Tree Topper
Pfeff-Bot   |

12-inch Yoda with LED Lightsaber Tree Topper

With the debut of Star Wars: The Force Awakens still far, far away (December 18, 2015), there are a few ways to get your Star Wars fix; however, this little holiday item may just shine the brightest of all.

This 12-inch Star Wars Yoda with LED Lightsaber Tree Topper by Kurt Adler has been tested and approved. It all started with a Geeks of Doom Holiday Gift Guide. These are not just for our readers, folks. My interest was immediately piqued when I stumbled upon this Christmas Tree Topper on Amazon. And when I added it on a whim to my Amazon wishlist, I had no idea that this little piece of Christmas magic would change my life.

I was lucky enough to receive this topper in the mail as a Christmas gift, and when I opened the box, I was stunned. There is no other way to put it (okay, I have a few more ways). This is Yoda as you have never seen him before. His beautiful, handpainted face is almost as impressive as his bright green, shining lightsaber. My living room has changed from a cute decorated room to a magical land of wonder and amusement where the Force is extremely strong (I may be exaggerating a little bit). But really, when I beheld this Yoda at the top of my Christmas tree, my jaw dropped.

Holiday Music Gift Guide 2014

Once again, the holidays are upon us, and once again, the dilemmas of gift buying start to take hold. In a sea of unending choices and genres of items so far stretching it can make one’s head do a full 360-degree revolution, one thing always holds collectively revered by all: music. Whether giving or receiving, the sharing of music is universal, timeless, and always satisfactory. 2014 had a wide range of exciting, cool, and unique music releases for sale, most of them firmly affixed with the metaphoric legend “must-have” right out of the box. So that said, from Led Zeppelin to Bowie to Rush and more, here’s a twelve pack of sonic gems from the classic rock genre (a genre which stubbornly and thankfully survives in this decidedly different music age we live in today) that’s sure to give ear-to-ear smiles to the faces and grooves of the lucky recipients of them.
