2K and Gearbox Software have released a trailer for Borderlands: The Handsome Collection, the remastered re-release of Borderlands 2 and Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel on next-gen (now current-gen) consoles.

The collection comes with all of the DLC that’s been released for the games, and will be released on March 24, 2015. You can read more about The Handsome Collection and watch the trailer below.

A new 15-minute gameplay demo has been released for Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel, the…you guessed it…prequel to the sequel, set between the events of Borderlands and Borderlands 2.

For the many fans eagerly hoping for the announcement of Borderlands 3, you’ll have to wait a bit longer. A new game in the series has been announced, but it is both a prequel and a sequel fittingly titled Borderlands: The Pre-Sequel!

The game is set after the events of Borderlands and prior to the events of Borderlands 2 in what sounds like a project that began as DLC and evolved into a full standalone game. Because of this, it will run on the same engine as the last game and will only be released on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3, and PC—not on Xbox One or PS4.

After reading my recent Borderlands 2 article (Gearing Up For Borderlands 2 September Launch), I got that warm and fuzzy feeling that comes when I read one of my published articles, but then I realized that in my furor I neglected to go over some of the key points of the upcoming launch. I aim to remedy some of that with this article.

First and foremost Take 2 Interactive is offering up two special editions at the game’s launch. For the price of $99.99, you get the Deluxe Vault Hunter’s Collector’s Edition which in addition to the game includes a Marcus Kincaid bobble-head, an art book, stickers, a digital comic, and a yet-to-be-announced DLC for the game. This constitutes some mighty fine swag.

If you are a gamer who didn’t play Borderlands you either have terrible friends, or hate having insane amounts of fun. Borderlands was a weird mix of space western, comedy, and RPG, with loot drops akin to a Diablo-type game. There are four playable characters, each with a unique style of play. This all added up to one unexpectedly awesome game.

Since its release in late October of 2009, it has sold over 4.5 million copies, on PC, Xbox 360, Playstation 3, and the Mac. In this writer’s humble opinion, it might be one of the single most fun experiences you can have on any of those platforms.

So now that you are up to speed on all the awesome, it’s time to talk Borderlands 2. Its launch date is September 18, 2012, and instead of a sleeper hit in-the-making, Borderlands 2 is officially a must-watch game. Expect it to be big.
