Hot Tub Time Machine 2 - Big Game Spot

The laws of time and space are about to be violated again when Hot Tub Time Machine 2 hits theaters February 20, 2015. In anticipation of the film’s release, Paramount Pictures has released this Super Bowl TV spot that features patriots and – you guessed it – ball jokes!

Check out the spot, and the film’s official trailer, here below!

Synopsis: The magical hot tub sends Lou (Rob Corddry), Nick (Craig Robinson), Jacob (Clark Duke), and Adam (Adam Scott) 10 years into the future to prevent an unknown assailant from shooting Lou, aka the “Father of the Internet.”

Hot Tub Time Machine 2 Trailer

Comedy sequel Hot Tub Time Machine 2 was on hand during the Paramount panel at San Diego Comic-Con 2014. You can read all about the panel, which also includes Christopher Nolan’s Interstellar and the new Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, right here.

To go along with their Con appearance, a trailer for the movie has also been released. But instead of choosing the more traditional movie marketing path (teasers, then full trailers, and so on), instead they’ve chosen to go all-out with the first trailer, an uncensored red band trailer that runs almost three-and-a-half minutes!

You can watch the trailer below, and of course, the NSFW warning is in effect.

The Croods Header

DreamWorks animation slate is pretty stacked for the next few years. One of their biggest projects for 2013 is the animated caveman family comedy, The Croods, featuring the voices of Nicolas Cage, Ryan Reynolds, Emma Stone, Catherine Keener, Clark Duke, and Cloris Leachman. Quite a collection of talent for an animated film, and now we got our first look at the film. Check out the beautiful trailer for Chris Sanders (How to Train Your Dragon) and Kirk DeMicco‘s The Croods here below.

Now an oppressive patriarchal father who forbids his adventuring daughter from ever leaving the nest is nothing new. Scaring his younger children with stories of adventurers’ deaths may be a bit dark for the younger audience, but all of that is overshadowed by the bright and colorful images and that sense of “seeing a new world” in this trailer. I especially like the the cloud and sunlight work seen in the earlier parts of this trailer. Its a bit strange to see Cage do some voice acting work, but I’m sure audiences will get used to it as the film progresses. The Croods opens in theaters on March 22nd, 2013.

Spoiler Talk: Kick-Ass

Kick AssI may not be able to make comic book movies, but I can kick your ass. I am a big comic book fan and read Kick-Ass a while back and really enjoyed it. That being said I was extremely nervous and excited about seeing this movie’s translation from comic book to movie. Well the time finally arrived for me and I got to see another one of my favorite comics on the big screen.

Now that I have seen the movie I have to say I really enjoyed it overall. One thing that stands true for most adaptations to film is that not everything translates perfectly from print to the big screen. As seen with Wanted a couple years ago this is nowhere near a straight translation from print to screen. The movie started production when only four issues of the comic had been written.

There will be people upset by the changes but overall they make sense for a big screen version of the story. I really hope people come into the movie with an open mind. I am sure that anybody with a chip on their shoulder from Wanted will probably not enjoy the movie as much as it should be enjoyed.

Well enough small talk let’s kick ass and start up a little SPOILER TALK about one of the most action-packed movie of the year so far.

Below are my spoiler filled thoughts on the movie Kick Ass. Don’t forget to add your spoiler filled thoughts at the end of the post in the comments section.
