Back to the Future II Animated Short

In just five short days, the date will be October 21, 2015. That is, as many of you already know, the very same date that Doc Brown brings Marty McFly to in Back to the Future II. And if you’re familiar with the movie, you know that its vision of the year we currently exist in, while awesome, is nowhere near what the real 2015 looks like.

A new animated video short aims to show what it would actually look like if Doc and Marty visited the real 2015 in Back to the Future II. You can check it out below. Fair warning: there is a small NSFW warning in effect for some naughty cartoon language.

Weird Al Gets Whiplashed

Take my favorite musician/recording artist ever and add in my favorite movie of 2014 and you have a recipe for greatness. “Weird Al” Yankovic has teamed up with Oscar contender for Best Picture, Whiplash, to promote his upcoming world tour “Mandatory.” Whiplash is the story of a drum prodigy tested by his abusive jazz conductor college professor played by Oscar nominee J.K. Simmons. In Weird Al Gets Whiplashed, a video produced by College Humor, Weird Al stands in for Miles Teller’s character Andrew, while his patented accordion replaces the drums. The performer is excited for his upcoming world tour and is trying to get “perfect” with the help of Simmons’ Fletcher. While Simmons’s scenes from the film remain perfectly intact, this hilarious 4-plus minutes video has Weird Al voicing to Simmons what most viewers of the film wanted to yell at the screen.

You can check out Weird Al Gets Whiplashed as well as some of Weird Al’s other new videos here below.

The list of contributors includes Seth Rogen, Sarah Silverman, Rainn Wilson, Vince Vaughn, Michael Cera, Craig Robinson, Jeff Ross, The Lonely Island, and internet favorites like Epic Meal Time, Epic Rap Battles, and College Humor.

To help promote the event, none other than Arnold Schwarzenegger filmed a humorous promo for YouTube Comedy Week, which you can watch below along with another promo.

Doctor Who As A 16-bit Video Game

This was too brilliant not to share! The folks over at College Humor have prepared an extremely cool video simulation of Series 5 and 6 of Doctor Who if it had been made as a 16-bit video game. You can check out the clip at the bottom of this post.

The CH video contains a lot of allusions and aspects of the major story arcs from the previous two seasons that follow the Doctor’s Eleventh Incarnation (Matt Smith), as he encounters adventures with Amy Pond (Karen Gillan), Rory Williams (Arthur Darvill), and River Song (Alex Kingston). Even David Tennant‘s Doctor gains a cameo at the start for a fun regeneration sequence.

Galactic Empire State of Mind

The brilliant minds over at College Humor have done it again, this time with a Star Wars-themed music video parody of the song “Empire State of Mind” by the artist Jay-Z.

Watch the video here below for “Galactic Empire State of Mind.”

This video starts with the 20th Century Fox fanfare, then launches right into a rapping Darth Vader, as scenes from the original Star Wars trilogy play in the background.

During the chorus there is an audio track of Vader breathing while we see Leia playing Max Reebo’s piano and her earphones are her famous swirl bun hair. This video not only jokes about the original trilogy, but it also pays tribute to it as well. One of the best jokes in this music video are the breakdancing Stormtroopers and Ewoks along with Rebel pilots. It also features the singing “Leia” character wearing the famous “slave” outfit from Return of the Jedi.
