X-Force Header Image

The success of Deadpool proved that R-rated comic book movies could work. So in light of its success, Fox is following it up with Logan and a Deadpool sequel. The former is set to hit theaters next week, while the latter is still in the early stages of writing.

But one film Ryan Reynolds would very much like to see happen is X-Force. The actor has spoken about his interest in bringing the title to the big screen in the past. Now it’s being reported that Joe Carnahan is writing the script, so it looks like we are that much closer to it being a reality. More on the story below.

‘Deadpool 2’ Writers Confirm Return Of Colossus and Negasonic; Talk About Cable
eelyajekiM   |

Deadpool

It really wouldn’t be much of a Deadpool movie without the Merc with a Mouth mocking his fellow castmates, both on screen and off. But as the title character pointed out in the first film, there wasn’t much of a budget for a lot of X-Men characters. With Deadpool being a box office smash, fans are expecting the sequel to be bigger and better. That means they’ll have to introduce new characters for even more hilarious mockery and insults.

We’re expecting to see Cable and Domino in the film, but their roles have not been cast yet. However, in a new interview with screenwriters Paul Wernick and Rhett Reese, it’s confirmed that Colossus and Negasonic Teenage Warhead will also be making a return. The two scribes also spoke about how they will work Cable into the film, despite his rather confusing timeline. Check out what they had to say below.

Deadpool Among WGA Awards Nominees

Specific guild nominations are very telling of what films and television shows are up for major awards. Take SAG (Screen Actors Guild). A lot of the times the nominations from those awards are a precursor to which actors will most likely be nominated for Academy Awards. That is really no different from the Writers Guild of America (WGA).

Today, WGA have announced their Writers Guild Awards nominees for the best in original and adaptive screenplay. You may recognize a few like Arrival or La La Land, heard of their critical acclaim like Moonlight, and may be even surprised by a few like Deadpool. That’s right, Deadpool got a nomination. Check out the list of nominated films below.

Hugh Jackman May Be Rethinking Wolverine Retirement
eelyajekiM   |

Logan

Hugh Jackman has made it no secret that he intends to put away his adamantium claws for good after Logan, the third installment of the Wolverine X-Men spinoff franchise. The actor has played the character in a total of nine films over the past seventeen years. That’s some major dedication. So while the end is inevitable, there was some hope that he would reconsider, especially since there was a rumor that Deadpool was going to cameo in Logan. Deadpool star Ryan Reynolds and Logan director James Mangold were quick to shoot those rumors down, but Reynolds and Jackman have enjoyed throwing social media jabs at each other, that the two sharing the same screen would make for a great movie.

Now new interviews with the actors reveal that there is a very slim chance that it could happen. Check out what Reynolds and Jackman had to say below.

Empress Eve’s Top 10 Favorite Movies Of 2016

Top 10 Favorite Movies of 2016

Now that 2016 is behind us, it’s time for me to reveal my favorite Movies of 2016. On a global level, the year 2016 will go down in history as a difficult one, where we lost a lot of talented people and there seemed to be an overall negativity in the air (thanks in part to the general election here in the U.S). On a personal level, 2016 was not only difficult, but sorrowful, as I lost my father to cancer. My dad loved movies, and every time we got together, we would discuss the films we had recently seen. Dad got sick early in the year, so we didn’t get to have our usual movie pow-wows.

My top movies are always of the blockbuster, superhero, scifi/fantasy variety, with some comedies sprinkled in, because I like to rewatch movies, so I tend to pick more uplifting titles as “favorites” — therefore, I’m not saying my list is of the “best” movies, they are just the ones I enjoyed the most and will likely rewatch to my heart’s content.

WHAM! Deadpool Rumored To Be Making A Cameo In ‘Logan’
eelyajekiM   |

Deadpool Testicular Cancer PSA

There’s no arguing that Deadpool was the breath of life that the X-Men film franchise so desperately needed. The self-depreciating humor and the constant jabs at the inconsistencies within the universe made us all laugh. So a cameo appearance from the Merc with the Mouth in a future X-Men film is practically inevitable.

Of course, if there had to be a film that Deadpool would like to appear in, it would obviously have to be Logan. And according to a new report, it looks like he may be getting his wish. A new report says that Ryan Reynolds will be making an appearance as Deadpool in the next Wolverine movie. But the actor and director James Mangold may have something else to say. Check out the full report below.

La La Land starring Emma Stone and Ryan Gosling - Golden Globe nomination

The 2017 Golden Globe nominations were announced this morning, and as expected there were plenty of surprises and a few snubs. La La Land took home seven nominations, including Best Picture (Motion Picture Musical or Comedy) Best Actor, Best Actress, and Best Song. Among the biggest surprises is Ryan Reynolds for his performance in Deadpool, and Sing Street. There were a few snubs as well, which included Natalie Portman in Jackie and Denzel Washington in Fences, as well as Finding Dory not getting a nom for Best Animated feature (although Disney did get two other films in). Check out the full list of nominations here below.

Tim Miller Addresses Rumors About His Exit From ‘Deadpool 2’
eelyajekiM   |

Deadpool Movie

When news that Tim Miller wouldn’t be returning to direct Deadpool 2, rumors of him wanting a bigger budget that focused more on the action started to emerge. Soon enough, the filmmaker became the target of vitriol and anger. Lately, Ryan Reynolds, who plays the title character, tried to squash some of those rumors by saying that the two had no animosity and any arguments being reported were just hearsay. But Miller has stayed quiet for the most part. Until now.

In a new interview, Miller is addressing those rumors head on, and echoing what Reynolds has said about their relationship while one set. More on the story below.

‘Deadpool 2’: Ryan Reynolds On The Sequel’s Tone and Tim Miller’s Departure
eelyajekiM   |

Deadpool

The X-Men film franchise may look bleak now, but that hasn’t stopped Fox from moving forward with its lucrative Marvel titles. Rumor is that they are prepping to shoot New Mutants as early as next year in Montreal, where they previously shot X-Men: Days of Future Past and X-Men: Apocalypse. There’s also the release of Logan, which apparently got rave reviews today when the studio screened the first act of the film to a select group of journalists. Fans can also rest easy knowing that Deadpool 2 is finally moving forward now that the Tim Miller controversy is behind them.

We know that David Leitch (co-director of John Wick) will helm the sequel, and it seems that Ryan Reynolds, who plays the title character, couldn’t be more excited that the filmmaker is behind the lens. Check out what he had to say below.
