Han Solo: Paul Bettany To Replace Michael K. William In ‘Star Wars’ Spinoff
eelyajekiM   |

Ron Howard and Paul Bettany On Han Solo Set

You have to hand it to Ron Howard for handling the Han Solo Star Wars spinoff as well as he is. For one thing, he is a bit more transparent, giving fans a look at everything that is going on behind the scenes, even he is releasing meaningless photos of craft food services. But for what it’s worth we are getting better looks at the set than we ever did before. But these reshoots have forced Michael K. William‘s character to be cut out of the entire film. While we knew he would have played “a half-human, half-animal” who was a “kick-ass character,” cutting his character seemed to indicate it wasn’t of major significance.

However, it appears that the character does hold some weight in the film. So much so that Howard turned to a reliable friend to act as William’s replacement. With a few caveats of course. That actor is a Beautiful Mind star Paul Bettany, whom you may know as Vision in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. More on the story below.

The Lion King

As far as we know, Disney’s upcoming live-action iteration of The Lion King is in the very early stages of development. So early that they are still adding cast members as we speak. However, with the film expected to hit theaters just before the next D23 Expo, director Jon Favreau was kind enough to stop by this year’s D23 to provide a small sample of his vision for the new Lion King. And if you are a fan of the original film and his live-action take on The Jungle Book, then you will be pleased by the description we have to offer.

Movie Review: Spider-Man: Homecoming
Dr. Zaius   |

Spider-Man: Homecoming

Spider-Man: Homecoming
Written by Jonathan Goldstein & John Francis Daley & Jon Watts & Christopher Ford & Chris McKenna & Erik Sommers
Directed by Jon Watts
Starring Tom Holland, Michael Keaton, Jon Favreau, Zendaya, Donald Glover, Tyne Daly, Marisa Tomei, Robert Downey Jr.
Sony Pictures
Release date: July 7, 2017

The general consensus amongst critics and die-hard comic book movie fans alike is that no matter how great the MCU films get, the pinnacle of the genre was achieved back in the early 2000s with Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man (2002) and Spider-Man 2 (2004). Interestingly enough, two of the dirt worst superhero movies since then also featured the webslinger: Raimi’s awful Spider-Man 3 in 2007, and The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in 2014, which killed the rebooted franchise before it could even make the planned Sinister Six film it spent 2 hours setting up. Marvel Studios and Sony were able to come to an agreement since that debacle, which led to the best Spidey on screen in 12 years with Tom Holland’s appearance in Captain America: Civil War last year. A year later, Sony & Marvel again united to bring us Spider-Man: Homecoming, and maybe because I’m writing this an hour after seeing it, without time to properly marinate… but Homecoming is the best standalone Spider-Man movie since… ever.

Spider-Man Grabs Himself A Coffee, Surprises Customers (Video)
The Movie God   |

Spider-Man: Homecoming Starbucks Pranks

We’re just a little over a week from the launch of the first movie in Sony Pictures’ latest reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, Spider-Man: Homecoming, this time with a little help from Marvel.

To help promote the movie a fun little prank was set up, as is quite the popular viral marketing technique these days. For this one, customers at a Starbucks in New York City are first confused when the barista calls out Spider-Man’s name for an order, and then surprised when Spidey himself drops down from the ceiling to pick it up. There’s even a cameo from a familiar face.

Check out the video below.

Now comes Phil Lord and Chris Miller being fired from their duty as directors of the still untitled Han Solo film over creative differences. The two were soon after replaced by Ron Howard. But it is why they were fired and the timing of it all that has many of us fascinated about what was going on behind the scenes. More on the story below.
