Evil Rip (Arthur Darvill) took over King Arthur (Nils Hognestad) and his army’s minds to fight to the death. He said Arthur will kill himself if they don’t. Although Nate’s (Nick Zano) book said Ray (Brandon Routh) will die, Ray didn’t care. He still wanted to fight. Two weeks ago on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, the legends needed to save George Washington and the outcome of the Revolutionary War, because evil Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) and the Legion of Doom – Damian Darhk, Malcolm Merlyn, and Eobard Thawne (Neal McDonough, John Barrowman, Matt Letscher) caused an aberration to grab the piece of the Spear of Destiny. Washington was scheduled to hang as a traitor, but Mick, Nate, and Amaya (Dominic Purcell, Nick Zano, Maisie Richardson-Sellers) saved the day. Sarah (Caity Lotz) almost died when she was shot and Rip choked her, and the ship was offline. Stein (Victor Garber) tried to save her, as Jax (Franz Drameh) tried to defend the ship and the piece of Spear. Sarah was saved, but the spear was taken. Last time on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Damian Darhk (Neal McDonough) narrated the opening, and we got to see how Malcolm Merlyn (John Barrowman) hooked up with Darhk and Eobard Thawne (Matt Letscher). There was trouble in paradise, with the two seething at Eobard Thawne’s highhandness, while simultaneously at each other’s throats. They were trying to get info out of Rip (Arthur Darvill), but the info just wasn’t there. A safety deposit box in 2025 had a piece of the Spear of Destiny, but they could not get in. Malcolm and Darhk have an assassins sword fight, until the “hippie” made them realize that they should work together. Lily Stein (Christina Brucato) found out she was a time aberration. The team figured out why Thawne was always on the move. The Legion of Doom trapped the monster (kinda looks like a zombie Flash) in a bank vault as partners.

Last night, Barry Allen and Cisco Ramon (Grant Gustin, Carlos Valdes) stopped by Supergirl via wormhole to recruit Kara (Melissa Benoist) for a slight problem. The episode was good, but there was definitely not enough crossover – merely the last 2 minutes. Tonight’s episode of The Flash was the payoff as the gang was all here.

Last week on DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Ray turned Nate Heywood (Brandon Routh, Nick Zano) into Steel with a tinkered Nazi super serum, but he cannot control it. Vixen (Maisie Richardson-Sellers) stows away on the ship, after trying to kill Mick (Dominic Purcell). She blames him for Rex Tyler’s death. Nate and Ray ended up in 17th Century Japan, and the rest of the team followed. So much fun! There were ninjas and a bit of romance. Interview: ‘Legends Of Tomorrow’ Cinematographer Mahlon Todd Williams
Olympus Athens   |

DC's Legends of Tomorrow Todd Israel

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow burst onto The CW in January, 2016 – a spinoff of a spinoff (ArrowThe FlashLoT). These time-traveling legends were tasked by Rip Hunter (Arthur Darvill) with capturing the evil Vandal Savage. The series, which also currently stars Victor Garber, Franz Drameh, Caity Lotz, Nick Zano, Dominic Purcell, and Brandon Routh, is just bunches of fun in time-traveling giftwrap.

What strikes one most about this series, are the settings in which our heroes spiral through. That magic is spun by the equally legendary cinematography duo of David Geddes and Mahlon Todd Williams. I got the unique opportunity to speak with Mahlon last week about filming in Vancouver, how he got started, and what it’s like filming this crazy, superhero, legendary, time-traveling show.

Check out the interview below.
