Watch: Trailer For ‘Harry Potter’ Fan Film ‘Voldemort: Origins Of The Heir’
The Movie God   |

Voldemort: Origins of the Heir

A trailer has been released for an upcoming Harry Potter fan film titled Voldemort: Origins of the Heir.

The movie follows the early days of Tom Marvolo Riddle, who would eventually become “he who must not be named,” Lord Voldemort. The project got off to a rocky start with the team behind it, Tryangle Films, initially running a crowdfunding campaign to raise funds before Warner Bros. found out about it and the campaign was ultimately shut down. But since then, the two parties have met and discussed the fan film, and WB has given the go ahead to make and release it so long as it’s released for free.

The Movie God   |

Eddie Redmayne Passionately Defends Hufflepuff

When it comes to the Harry Potter franchise’s four Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry houses, most of the attention goes to Gryffindor and Slytherin. Fellow houses Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw always seem to take a backseat to the main two.

But the first movie in the Harry Potter spinoff series Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them opens in theaters today, and star Eddie Redmayne is having none of this second-rate house nonsense. The actor made a public service announcement video recently, in which he passionately defends the Hufflepuff name, even using a couple of naughty words which would no doubt make Fat Friar blush.

See what Redmayne had to say in the video below.

Though the adventures of Harry Potter may have come to an end, J.K. Rowling’s legacy lives on. Now fans will be getting at five new spinoffs that expand the Harry Potter universe starting with Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them, a prequel that is set decades before the events of the phenomenon that started it all. While I wasn’t a fan of the original books and never really got into the films themselves, Fantastic Beasts is whimsical and fun, and manages to address a few relevant themes that affect us all. One thing is for sure, it will give anyone without any prior knowledge of the books or films a reason to look at why Harry Potter has remained popular all these years.

The Movie God   |

The Monster Squad

Here’s a movie comparison you weren’t expecting to see today. Unless of course you’ve already seen it. In which case, hi there! What brings you here? Excellent, welcome. Oh, there’s a snack machine ’round the back if you’re hungry.

Right then, where were we? Ah, yes. Unexpected movie comparisons. In a new video, YouTube channel Couch Tomato makes the wild argument that The Monster Squad and Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban are actually the same movie. In the video they back up the claim with 24 side-by-side pieces of evidence.

Do they make a solid case? I’ll leave that up to you to decide. I just look for any excuse to write about The Monster Squad.
