Frank
Director: Lenny Abrahamson

Cast: Domhnall Gleeson, Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Fassbender, Scoot McNairy, Carla Azar, Francois Civil
Magnolia Pictures
Not Rated | 93 Minutes
Release Date: March 10, 2014 (SXSW)

Directed by Lenny Abrahamson (Garage), Frank stars Domhnall Gleeson as Jon, a young musician who joins “Soronprfbs,” an eccentric band led by Frank – a mysterious man in an oversized, expressionless plaster head.

Co-starring Maggie Gyllenhaal, Michael Fassbender, and Scoot McNairy, Frank is a peculiar-but-poignant musical comedy that explores the absurdity of outsider art and the comedic nature of the experimental process.

Soronprfbs consists of burnt-out manager Don (McNairy), a passive-aggressive drummer Nana (Carla Azar), French bass player Baraque (Francois Civil), and the mysterious (and dangerous) Clara (Gyllenhaal), a quick-tempered theremin player who immediately hates Jon just for existing.

White House Down Header

One can’t walk out of a Roland Emmerich film without seeing the White House being annihilated. Sure we’ve seen aliens fire upon it, colossal waves wash over it, and climate changes freeze it, but White House Down will be director’s first film that is directly set in the historic landmark.

Channing Tatum and Jamie Foxx play Secret Service agent John Cale and the President of the United States, respectively, who must work together to find out why international terrorists brought the White House down, what their true intentions are, and to save Cale’s daughter Emily (Joey King). A new four-minute trailer has popped up online, and it appropriately shows how the White House is brought down in a way that only Emmerich could think of, which is massive.

Check out the new trailer for White House Down below.

‘White House Down’ Trailer: Like ‘Die Hard’ In The White House But With Channing Tatum

White House Down Poster Header

Don’t adjust your computer screen or think you are suffering from déjà vu: White House Down is like another Die Hard in the White House kind of film, only thing is, it looks like the production budget for the film is a lot higher than the $80 million that was spend to make Olympus Has Fallen, Antoine Fuqua’s recently released political action film starring Gerard Butler, Aaron Eckhart, and Morgan Freeman.

Watch the trailer here below.

The plot is pretty much the same, too: A secret service agent’s knowledge of the Presidential detail and White House will aid him in his mission to save the President of the United States (Jamie Foxx) from certain death. The opening quote about the country’s dark secrets bringing about our nation’s downfall could also be a possible plot twist in the film, but for now, let’s just go with the fact that White House Down is Die Hard in the White House, except with younger and sexier faces.

Universal Pictures and Working Title Films announced today that principal photography will begin early next month on Nanny McPhee and the Big Bang.

Oscar-winning actress and screenwriter Emma Thompson (Sense and Sensibility) returns to the role as the magical nanny who appears when she’s wanted the least and needed the most in this sequel to 2005’s Nanny McPhee, for which Thompson wrote the screenplay. Thompson also penned the screenplay for this next installment, based on characters created by Nurse Matilda author Christianna Brand, which sees Nanny McPhee placed with an all new family.

In this sequel, directed by Susanna White, Nanny McPhee jumps forward in time and appears at the door of a harried young mother who is trying to run the family farm while her husband is away at war. But once she’s arrived, Nanny McPhee discovers that Mrs. Green’s children are fighting a war of their own against two nasty, snobby cousins who have just moved in and refuse to leave. From flying motorcycles and statues that come to life to a tree-climbing piglet and a baby elephant that turns up in the oddest places, Nanny McPhee uses her magic to teach her mischievous charges five new lessons.
