‘Oldboy’ Remake’s Newest Poster; Spike Lee Talks Studio Cutting Important Scene
The long-awaited reinterpretation of Oldboy by Spike Lee, if only to find out just how faithful he’s going to be to the source material, comes out next week and in anticipation the film is getting one more new poster to help drum up interest. The poster revels in an explosion of violence that we should expect from the Oldboy via the protagonist’s weapon of choice, along with the tagline “Find the Truth and Make It Hurt” which overtly suggests we’re in for some brutal carnage.
Along with this poster, Spike Lee revealed a minor non-plot spoiler for his film during an interview with the New York Times revolving around the original film’s signature hallway fight sequence.
Check out the full poster here below and what Lee has to say about his film.

NYCC 2013: Film District Debuts Exclusive Footage From ‘Oldboy’
In Spike Lee’s upcoming Old Boy remake, Josh Brolin plays Joe Doucett, a man who’s inexplicably abducted and held captive in a hotel – one that’s actually a prison – for nearly 20 years before he’s equally inexplicably set free one day. Once he’s let out, Joe goes on a vengeful quest to uncover the identify of the man who imprisoned him and learn exactly why he lost all those years of his life.
Brolin wasn’t able to make an appearance in person on Friday at Film District’s Oldboy panel at New York Comic-Con 2013, but he did send along a video message – with tiny cardboard hammer in hand – to introduce some new exclusive footage from the film, which won’t be released online for some time, we were told.
Footage description is here below, along with photos and news from the panel.
