The Movie God   |

PlatinumGames' Scalebound

A new co-op fantasy RPG from developer PlatinumGames and publisher Microsoft Studios was announced at E3 2014 titled Scalebound. The game was to offer co-op gameplay, with each player getting their own dragon companion to help in battles. This, as you might imagine, had gamers quite excited. Excitement only grew with the release of gameplay videos showing some epic battles you and your dragon would take part in.

But in a surprising turn of events, it has now been announced that Microsoft has decided to cancel the game. It joins other titles canceled by Microsoft such as Fable Legends, Halo Online, and Project Spark.

‘Scalebound’ From Platinum Games Gets Pushed Back To 2017
The Movie God   |

Scalebound Gameplay

Another game many have been excited about playing that was expected to be released sometime in 2016 will require a bit more patience. Scalebound, a fantasy action-RPG that will see you adventuring with a dragon at your side, has been pushed back to a 2017 release.

When exactly the game will be released in 2017 is not yet clear. It was expected in late 2016 originally, so if it gets released in the first few months of next year it won’t be too bad. If it gets bumped all the way back to a fall 2017 release, well, hopefully the final product will be worth the patience.

You can read the full announcement from developer PlatinumGames below.

Gamescom 2015: First ‘Scalebound’ Gameplay Unveiled
The Movie God   |

Scalebound Gameplay

Back at E3 2014 a game called Scalebound was announced via a cinematic trailer. Today at the Gamescom convention, the first gameplay demo for the game was shown to the world.

The game is a third-person action-adventure game that sees you teaming up with your very own dragon, kind of like How to Train Your Dragon but with a much bigger and scarier dragon than adorable little Toothless. If has a Dragon Age meets Monster Hunter sorta feel to it, based just on this gameplay preview. And in addition to the first look at gameplay, it was also revealed that the game will include four-player co-op, though you will still be able to play by yourself if that’s your preference.

You can read more about the game and check out the first gameplay demo below.
