Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson in Urban Myths

We’ve all seen biopics or based on true events films and shows before. It’s nothing new really. But a new British show called Urban Myths will explore the urban myths or significant events of the subject’s life.

While you may not be familiar with the show itself, you may recall the questionable decision to cast Joseph Fiennes as Michael Jackson. This is that show, and you can check out a new trailer for it below.

CBGB's

The trailer for the upcoming biopic CBGB, based on the legendary NYC venue which became a musical landmark and showcased many first wave punk bands like The Ramones, Blondie, The Dead Boys, Television, and The Talking Heads, has been released online.

The movie stars Alan Rickman almost unrecognizable as the late bushy haired, paunchy club owner Hilly Kristal. Kristal, who started the club in the early 1970s first a Country, Bluegrass, and Blues establishment (hence the abbreviated of sorts moniker CBGB) and wound up taking on some of the disenfranchised bands and alienated youth of NYC and burgeoning states, showcasing them, in some cases even managing them, and unexpectedly created a revolution in noise that at peak level, became one of the most notorious, liberating, and stark white honest musical genres ever to rear its head in music history. The name affixed to this somewhat new genre of sound was punk.

Check out the trailer below.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2
Directed by David Yates
Staring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint, Ralph Fiennes
Rated PG-13
Warner Brothers Pictures
Release date: July 15, 2011

If there was ever a review-proof movie, it would be this — Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2. Honestly, if you haven’t checked out the Harry Potter film series yet, you’re probably not going to start with the final movie. By the same token, if you’re a devoted Harry fanatic, it isn’t like you are going to skip the finale. So as a film reviewer, Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 is a great chance to cut loose. I’m willing to bet that few subjects have been written about more than Harry Potter in the 21st century, so there’s not much I can add to the discourse at this point. I can say whatever I want here, and it’s not going to change your decision about whether you’re going to see this movie or not. So, does the Harry Potter film franchise go out with a whimper, or does it go out with the best bang since the big one?

This is of course the finale to a film series that has been going on for almost a decade. It’s the final showdown between everyone’s favorite boy magician, Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), and his arch-nemesis, the evil Lord Voldermort (Ralph Fiennes). Since the final book has so much going on, the filmmakers decided to split the film adaptation into two parts. The first part dealt with Harry and his best friends Ron (Rupert Grint) and Hermoine (Emma Watson) searching for Horcruxes, items that contain pieces of Voldemort’s soul that keep him alive. This part deals with the gang finding and destroying the final Horcruxes, returning to Hogwarts school, and facing down an army of darkness.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 1 Blu-rayHarry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1
Blu-ray Combo | DVD | On Demand
Directed by David Yates
Starring Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, Rupert Grint
Warner Home Video
Release date: April 15, 2011

The tale of the wizard Harry Potter and his struggle against the evil Lord Voldemort has nearly reached its end in Harry Potter and The Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the first of a two-part finale for the film franchise. The Harry Potter movies have come a long way in the 10 years since the first offering, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, when Harry was just a little boy and Voldemort was merely a named to be feared and never spoken. As Harry and his loyal friends grew older, the franchise got darker, with this latest one being the darkest and most frightening one of all.

Voldemort’s (Ralph Fiennes) power has grown strong and, as always, his one focus in life is to kill Harry Potter (Daniel Radcliffe), the boy who lived, the Chosen One, the one destined to bring about his downfall. Thanks to his friends and powerful allies, Harry has managed to either stay hidden from the dark lord or escape his clutches whenever they’ve battled. But unlike the previous installments, in The Deathly Hallows: Part 1, the wizard world itself has grown dark, too. Voldemort’s Death Eaters and other minions and loyal subjects have taken over the government with a mission to rule over the Muggle — non-magical — world and subjugate all Muggles and Muggle-born wizards and witches. No one is safe under this regime, so Harry and his friends Hermione (Emma Watson) and Ron (Rupert Grint) are forced to go underground on their own while searching for the hidden Horcruxes, the magical artifacts that house pieces of Voldemort’s soul that the trio must figure out how to destroy.
