Black Panther Dora Milaje

Black Panther is easily one of the best Marvel Studios films to come out in recent years. And I am not just saying that because it is the most recent film to be released by the studio. The way it addresses social issues, representation, identity, and feminism and still maintains its superhero feel is incredible.

Now that Marvel is turning its attention to Avengers: Infinity War, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige is talking about Black Panther‘s success. Check out what he had to say about it, the chances for a sequel and possible spinoffs, and more below.

Letitia Wright as Shuri In Black Panther

When Captain America: Civil War ended, fans got to see what happened to Bucky (Sebastian Stan). With the help of T’Challa (Chadwick Boseman), Captain America (Chris Evans), and Bucky were granted refuge for their acts against the Sokovia Accords. In order to protect Wakanda and himself, Bucky willingly asked to be put in a cryogenic sleep. At the time, it was unclear if he would ever wake up. Then the Avengers: Infinity War trailer came out and we saw him, along with his fellow Avengers, charging towards an unknown enemy. So that led to some speculation that we would at least see him in some sort of capacity in Black Panther.

Well, he wasn’t in it, at least not until the very end. So, what is with his absence? In a new interview with director Ryan Coogler, the filmmaker talks about the Winter Soldier’s absence. There are some spoilers, but if you have already seen the film or are just interested in knowing, find out what he had to say below.

Black Panther Director Ryan Coogler

Marvel Studios’ Black Panther continues to perform beyond our expectations at the box office.

Marvel’s 18th film is able to tell a beautiful story that uses social issues as themes, and it still remembers that it is a superhero film. So it weaves in those real-world themes with some fantastic comic book sequences. All of that coming from the young Ryan Coogler, who made his directorial debut with the Sundance drama Fruitvale Station and then followed it up with the compelling Creed. Black Panther is Coogler’s third directing effort, and he shows no signs of slowing down.

In light of the film’s success, one would think that it would inflate a filmmaker’s ego. But not Coogler. The director expressed his gratitude to the fans helping make Black Panther a huge success. Read the letter below.

Marvel Studios Chadwick Boseman as Black Panther

One thing I forgot to mention in my review of Marvel’ Black Panther – something I regret not putting in – is the fact that the music is an excellent complement to the superhero film. Produced by Kendrick Lamar, the soundtrack is easily one of the most anticipated Marvel soundtracks to date. Probably because it’s one of the few that is worthwhile.

So if you want to take a listen, then I suggest you check out the Spotify embed here below for clips; the full soundtrack is streaming through the Spotify app.
